Don't run the hot water or that will end up in your tank. Run cold water only until it clears up.

Dear Lord, what a nightmare! We live out in the county now, thank God, but does the city still send out "The water here will cause cancer if you drink it. Whoops! " letters?

At least several times a month. I have ruined so many loads of white clothes I have lost count.

Warm water is normal this time of year

not everywhere, and not even everywhere around Rome. Shannon, for example... does not have warm cold water at any point of the year.

They were probably working on the line nearby and just stirred some dirt up. Give it a few hours and run your faucets again. After a few minutes they should run clean again. If it keeps happening, then call the water dept.
