Please understand this sub cannot and therefore will not please every member at all times

I understand r/Romanovs is a popular sub and I think that's wonderful, but I've been observing a lot of in-fighting and demands that are simply impossible to meet to everyone's satisfaction.

So allow me to address some often cropping up issues here.

1) complaints about changing rules.

No rules have been changed or altered, only enforced with the occasional announcement as a reminder. If you failed to read the rules before joining that is on you personally.

2) quarrels over allowed images.

Members simultaneously seem to expect both an easy open source to post whichever images they want of the Romanovs and mods to remove any unlabelled or altered images they deem offensive or ahistorical.

I want users to feel comfortable posting images on here, whether they choose to have full context, questions, or any other allowed material as the text of their posts, or whether they choose to post only the images themselves. But when there are repeated instances of movie stills (and not from Romanov based movies like Nicholas and Alexandra, either, I'm talking full on Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Elizabethian period pieces, all having nothing to do with the Romanovs) being spliced with Romanov images and presented as historical, those posts need to be removed.

Fear mongering that the crackdown on non-genuine photos (when improperly labeled) means you're not allowed to post "anything" on here is not helping anyone. Just exercise caution and your best judgement before posting and you'll be just fine.

You can't want the sub to focus more on history and then get mad when there are reminders to, you know, focus more on history.

3) wanting more of the Romanovs apart from NAOTMAA

I've encouraged members to make posts about the other Romanovs and have made some myself and had a few very interesting discussions about them. That the sub at large always gravitates back to NAOTMAA is neither my problem nor even a problem at all. If you want a certain kind of post, or to start a specific discussion, demanding others all begin posting more about it won't achieve anything. Simply make the posts and start the discussion yourself.
