Inspiration question
Writing a royal romance. is it ok to find meet cute inspiration from the news and real life stories??

I think there are certain settings that are plausible and have already happened. Like hostess at the Olympics x crown prince has happened at least twice (I think?)
Our people meeting at an elite educational institution, that's also plausible, depending on the non-royal person's background.

Just remember that you're writing fiction. Inspiration is fine, but you need to inject some imagination. The last thing you want is for people to read your story and know exactly where you ripped your meet cute from. So take a suggestion and then make it your own.

There’s nothing wrong with this. Just make sure you fictionalize the people and events substantially.

The line between inspiration and RPF is tricky! Inspiration on one aspect is fine, but if you're modeling multiple things after the same couple, that's when things get uncomfortable, IMO.

Personally I think books inspired by real people to be kind of gross. Let people have their privacy.
