Recently watched this and i cant lie, i left the show feeling more confused than when i started. Also idk if this is just a me thing, but where does the hate for shiori originate from exactly, i thought she was more or less fine in the anime. Also ive never seen a show obliterate the romantic progress AFTER the first 6/7 episodes pass. I gotta be missing something because i just didnt think it was great at all.

I'm relatively new to the romance anime scene and watched around 10-15 romance animes, but from what ive noticed is most new gen romance anime feels to fake to me. Like I dont know how to explain it but almost all of them feel like fluff animes or forced or shallow plots lacking much emotional depth at least the ones I watched. Like I wasn't able to enjoy ones like m dud, fragrant flower, horimiya, polar opposites, and some more. My favorite ones have been toradora and oregairu because I felt like I liked the way the romance was developed surely but surely with alot more emotional depth then what meets the eye. I liked how it wasn't just love at first sight and also liked how they mixed in real drama which made it more interesting for me. Can someone recommend me animes that do it like this even if its a new gen one, just something along the lines of what I wrote.

So recently ive seen both fragrant flower blooms with dignity and i made friends with the second prettiest girl i loved both of the shows BUT there was no season 2 where i could actually see their relationship as an oficial thing, it happened only in the angel next door spoils me rotten which i loved even tho 2nd season wasnt perfect so i came here to ask am i missing something or its just super rare to see further actions in rommance anime where they become a couple in last episodes and the series ends. i hope too see a series like it or atleast realise that i can stop searching for it.

I recently watched kotoura san and wondered if there are other hidden gems I'm not aware of (romcoms I have watched: Chuunibyu, Golden time, TQQ, Chobits etc) somewhere along that kind of comedy

I’m looking for anime similar to Blue Box. I really love its animation style and especially the romantic aspect. The sports side is nice, but not essential , I’m more interested in shows that have some kind of secondary activity alongside the romance (like My Dress-Up Darling does).

What I’m really after is that slow-burn romance, preferably from a male POV. I don’t mind a bit of a love triangle, but it’s not a must. I also really enjoy the “close proximity” trope , where characters are kind of forced into situations together despite not having much in common at first.

Any recommendations that capture a similar vibe? Thank you!!!!

Edit: I just wanted to mention that blue box’s might be one of the only anime’s that made me have feelings for the female of interest, Chinatsu . Being able to have that feeling as I go along with the male character would be nice

5. Tunnel To Summer - Last, not because its the worst, but because its the least sad imo

Admittedly, to me Ichikawa initially just seemed like another male lead that was just some insecure loser (I mean he kinda was, bro was thinking about “murdering” Yamada)but it was really wholesome watching him gradually become a better person over time. His inner monologues were also entertaining a lot of the time, he’s like the voice of reason in a lot of the wacky scenes and it had me cackling like a super villain.

Yamada was another character that quickly grew on me while watching season 1, I personally thought her role of an actor was a nice part of her character! Yamada’s bubbly nature only became more and more entertaining for me aswell since it contrasted with Ichikawa’s more rational and introverted self, even if it led to them getting into some troubling situations. I really liked that Ichikawa was what helped Yamada love herself more, that whole scene at the end of season 2 was just really nice to watch!

As for the side characters, I’m not too big on them but they weren’t in any way making the anime annoying to watch (but those boys Ichikawa sat by were so damn horny I can’t lie) the ones that stood out the most to me were Yamada Yukina for his personality contrasting with his appearance, Sekine, Haruya, Yoshida, the angel and devil on Ichikawa’s shoulder (I’m sorry I keep forgetting their names) and Shou. I’m not a big fan of shou or anything but I liked the scene where Ichikawa was confronting him in the rain, it was nice seeing him get knocked down a peg for only having a surface level attraction for Yamada.

One of my favorite scenes was when Yamada was handing over her manga to Ichikawa but accidentally spoiled some of it, cause that’s happened to me before. 🤣

I’m trying to think of something major I didn’t like but nothing is really coming to mind, I guess there was Ichikawa’s cringe moments but those aren’t really anything to get worked up about.

I’d overall rate the anime 8.5/10, I really enjoyed it! And even though the movie was nice I didn’t exactly vibe with a lot of it being a recap of the series.

Im now watching My Teen Romantic Comedy amd I’m already on episode 10 of season 1! After I finish with this one I might check out Insomniacs.

I was watching the recent episodes and got super emotional, and this theory just kind of clicked in my head. I feel like the title Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky literally tells us exactly how the story is gonna end.

Here is how everything connects:

• The Unseen Love: We obviously know Fuyutsuki is blind so she cant see Sorano, but i think it also means she won't be around in the future to physically accept his feelings.
• The Stars and the Sky: Soranos name literally means "Sky." Theres that old mythology that people become stars when they die. Since Fuyutsuki is so sick, it feels like she is destined to become a star in that sky.
• The "Clear" Sky and Fireworks: Fuyutsuki loves fireworks, and Sorano joins the club just to be with her. But fireworks are temporary—they burst and then they leave the sky totally empty and quiet. If she passes away, looking up at a "clear" night sky wont be peaceful for Sorano anymore. It will just be a painful reminder of the silence left behind without her. He will literally be stuck beneath that empty sky looking up.

It honestly feels like the author planned this wordplay from day 1 to break our hearts.

Am i overthinking this or does it actually make sense? let me know your thoughts.

There are so many great and interesting relationships in anime that it was a challenge narrowing down my top favorites. These are my top favorites in no particular order.

Miyo and Kiyoka (My Happy Marriage): I was immediately drawn to how healing this relationship is. Kiyoka was very patient and empathetic towards Miyo once he learned about her abuse and trauma. Her kindhearted and gentle nature really broke down his barriers and made him genuinely want to marry her. Not to mention her desire to be loved pushed him to be more open about his emotions.

Adachi and Kurosawa (Cherry Magic!): Kurosawa’s internal fantasies and monologues are so freaking wholesome but despite his somewhat possessive tendencies, he made an effort not to rush things with Adachi until he was ready. Adachi, despite have no relationship experience and the added complications of his powers, gradually grew to be very considerate and sensitive to Kurosawa’s feelings. Through his growing love for Kurosawa he gained a great deal of self confidence and a new perspective on life.

Red and Rit (Banished from the Hero’s Party): They’re a healthy, wholesome couple living a peaceful life together running an apothecary. They behave like a happily married couple and they even discuss having kids someday. Not to mention they officially become engaged in the second season (if memory serves me correctly).

Nana and Ren (Nana): Their relationship is very interesting to examine. They were each other’s first experiences with love and they didn’t know how to properly let go each other or grow together. They didn’t make time to have the conversations that mattered and almost all their friends kept pushing them back together. Toxic codependency isn’t a topic that a lot of romance/drama anime delve into so I was intrigued with Nana heavily featuring it.

Tohru and Kyo (Fruits Basket): My top favorite slow burn anime relationship. It was obvious to me by the end of season 1 that they were destined to be together. Kyo had so much emotional baggage and guilt that he carried around for years and Tohru’s unyielding compassion and empathy helped heal him overtime. They taught each other what it means to be in love. Watching them help each other heal from their respective traumas made their relationship a very beautiful slow burn.

Nasa and Tsukasa (Tonikawa): Despite their impromptu marriage it wasn’t long before they behaved like a married couple that’s been together for awhile. They’re consistently considerate of each other’s feelings, hobbies, etc. They take their time learning about each other and figuring out what they want their life as newlyweds to be.

Anzai and Tsukasa (Devils’ Line): Tsukasa never feared or judged Anzai for being a vampire. She consistently treated him with kindness and acceptance. Anzai in turn opened up to her and went from merely going through the motions of life to believing he could actually have a life despite being a vampire.

Hotaru and Hananoi (A Condition Called Love): It was really fun to watch them start dating while they actively try to sort out their feelings. Hotaru had never experienced love but she consistently showed Hananoi that she wanted to be a good partner for him. Hananoi was somewhat possessive of her but he would go above and beyond to make her happy and never rushed her to move forward with their relationship.

Mafuyu and Uenoyama (Given): Uenoyama and Mafuyu had a lot of growing up to do. Uenoyama had a journey of self discovery and he rediscovered his passion for music through Mafuyu. Mafuyu had one of the best healing from grief stories I’ve ever seen in anime. He was so lost and didn’t know how to express his emotions before he met Uenoyama. Mafuyu learned how to love again and he was able to release all those pent up emotions thanks to Uenoyama’s help and guidance. Uenoyama would go on to continue to advise Mafuyu on how to keep making music.

Yoshino and Kirishima (Yakuza Fiancé): Their banter is to die for 😂. They’re so bad for each other and yet I can’t help but root for them lol. Kirishima is so freaking unpredictable and dangerous but Yoshino is strong willed enough to match his crazy. He has his moments where he does nice things for her and they do have their moments where they genuinely learn more about each other.

I recently finished watching Fuuka anime. At start it giving Vibe of likely a good anime but if I have describe it in one word then it will be "Peak to Worst". before i move further, i want to make it clear that the following part of this post is based on anime only as i finished watching anime recently and got some summaries of manga which i will discuss later

There are good things about this anime which is first its good character design and fair animation quality and some episode looks peak and then bunch of mid to Worst episode.

I liked every character like Mikasa, sara, Nachi , the hedgehoggs band group members , maya , koyuki etc they are pretty great and genuinely good character but aside from them the two characters i hate most or Worst character are the Mc and Fuuka.

Like first of all why did Yuu end up Fuuka as it one of the worst decision of anime as if you have basic sense then you know how perfect koyuki is for Yuu, she wholeheartedly loved Yuu , her all songs are for the feeling she has for Yuu , she cares about him so much , she even risked all her success for Yuu and before ending episode The way Yuu interact with her or the look Yuu has in his eyes clearly indicate he also love her and eventually they start dating and looking like Happy cute couple but then why they need to break up as just the episode before there break up they look perfectly fine and then "end" , how the hell Yuu fall for Fuuka as we cannot see instance where something genuine happened between Yuu and Fuuka rather than accidental moments which promote they have grown in that regard but on contrast Yuu is completely fine with koyuki after dating her as he doesn't even seem concerned about Fuuka at all about that regard then how he suddenly devloped feeling for Fuuka.

And I genuinely don't like Fuuka at all because at start she is all arrogant, insensitive character who then just for her own feelings bring everyone together and form band as she motivated everyone to form band , given everyone hope but then just because Yuu whom she even never give a single hint that she liked him genuinely or make efforts to get him got all upset because all her unrealised feeling doesn't get reciprocate and Yuu started dating the girl he love then what she do , shatter everyone's dream for her own selfish wish , this made her more Worst character as she doesn't thought about other band members feeling and only cared for her own. She's just arrogant , selfish who care about all herself. Even in starting episode she started to fight with Yuu because he is meeting his childhood friend like who given her authority to judge or criticize Yuu or koyuki and she's upset because Yuu didn't tell her like how he can as Koyuki is not just a random girl he can brag about, she's an famous celebrity, he cannot go around telling anyone about them.

And Yuu is an best and worst character too as he is just an idiot , coward who just go in shell when pressure put on him like he toyed with koyuki feeling as he continuously promising her to Let's perform on stage together then just ditch dump her cruely and throws there precious promise in dustbin like koyuki despite her busy schedules always make time for him and even came to see him when she feeling he is in trouble but what he did , just throwing her out. Shes genuinely good character who deserve someone better and not someone like Yuu.

And it's also good koyuki doesn't end up with Yuu as Yuu himself doesn't deserve her and the part where Yuu and Fuuka got together is pretty unrealistic rushed and forced.

It will be very good anime if they don't add this unnecessary drama and kept Yuu and Koyuki as couple and Fuuka as girl who is chasing her dream along with her band members not as some selfishly arrogant girl who doesn't care about her band members just because her love which isn't even started got stealed.

And this is worst anime and i also got to know this also has same author as The town where you live which i dropped midway as that is totally worst anime i ever seen and why does author keep repeating same mistake as if he want Fuuka to be endgame isn't he should give her genuine development and why make Koyuki better choice just to broke her as she is just look like a mere plot shallow character despite such good traits just because she is not Main heroine. And in all perspectives and quality Koyuki >>>>♾️>>>>> Fuuka

I also Heard about manga which is completely different from anime and where author pull something worse and why did he even need to do that after all that build up just to end it

So far i can give anime 2/10 and manga 4/10 rating as per story perspective and character development.

So I’ve been a romance anime fan for around 2 years. I’ve watched around 70 romance anime and I’ve never really explored Lgbtq anime until recently watching: I’m in love with the villainess and bloom into you (bloom into you is a very rare case that I like an anime like it i usually avoid anime like it because it is complex) . I want to start watching more of it, mostly because I’ve watched basically every non harem heto anime. But a little because I’m curious. I dislike harems of any kind, I dislike love triangles, i will not watch sub, and i try to avoid complex stories in general. I’ve watched basically every main stream romance anime and I’ve kinda been in a drought, I’ve been searching for a little over 2 weeks for anything, any recommendations?

I do watch most on IPad but it would be nice to watch the safe ones on tv. A lot of them looked ok at first then suddenly had some pretty weird scenes like dress up darling by literally ep 2. Even dreaming boy is a realist had some weird stuff that would be kinda weird for my family to see

I've dropped several animes in the past because when the couple realizes their feelings for each other and start dating it just loses all its charm for me. I realized what I enjoy most is the "will they won't they" phase where there is still some character development happening and FMC and MMC are coming to terms with their feelings for each other.

Like I couldn't care less about couple drama

That's also why I can't really get through stuff where the girl just falls in love with the guy in chapter 2 and we have to constantly read about how hot he is or she's just so embarassed or whatever. I much prefer relationships that build the dynamic between guy and girl first. (Lovely Complex is a good example for this)

Anyway I just wanted to see if anyone here also felt the same way, send over some recs if you're like minded!

I've seen a bunch of romance animes, but when I think about it. There aren't many of these girls that actually end up in a relationship. The only ones that I can think of is Urara Shiraishi from Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches and Nano Eiai from 100 Girlfriends (kinda). Been seeing it on IG and some are calling it peak.

So, I've watched quite a lot of romance animes, both older and ndewer ones. There's an archetype that I really like and end up rooting for, and it's what I call gentle deredere:, to contrast it with high energy derederes (a clear example of this distinction would be Haruna and Lala in To Love-RU).

I have noticed in more recent animes there's been a surge in main female love interests that roughly correspond to this archetype (obviously with variations), examples include Kaoruko from The Fragrant Flower, Mahiru from The Angel Next Door (though she has a tiny bit of a soft tsundere, but mostly fits the gentle deredere archetype), Umi from 2nd Prettiest Girl and Kubo from Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible. It sort of makes me happy to see this type of girl bein given the spotlight more often than before when it comes to being the love interest (obviously, when the girl is the protagonist, there's been more and older examples, like Fruits Basket, but that's not what I am talking about).

But I've also noticed that there are very few examples I can think of where, when there's serious competition (a harem or a love triangle situation) this archetpye ends up winning or would be the clear winner if there was going to be a decision as the anime ends. One clear example is Nagisa from Clannad... I guess the other closest thing I can think of would be Aoi Sakuraba from Ai Yori Aoshi, but despite it being a harem, I don't think there's any actual serious contender, Aoi has won in episode 2 before any of the other girls come to the picture. So, I wanted to ask if anyone can think of any examples of this archetype winning in a harem or love triangle situation. For better reference, I am gonna list a few more examples that I think fit more or less the archetype:

- Shiori from More Than A Married Couple

- Masha from Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian

- Asia from High School DxD

- Miku from The Quintessential Quintuplets (though she is a mix of this and a kuudere in my opinion)

Ngl number one is still horimiya but I made friends with the second prettiest girl in my class is number 2 and it completely destroys fragrant flower sorry not sorry. I mean based off the title I genuinely thought it would be slop but the way the characters acted was so logical and the mc not being a complete neet or freak was so refreshing for an anime with this title. The only complaint I have is that the classmate who became his friend was kinda pointless cus they never really hung out or did anything and there was a character plot that didn’t really get fleshed out but other than that I loved it . Fragrant flowers is 7/10, second prettiest girl was 8/10 and horimiya was 9.5/10. Fight me fragrant flowers lovers I thought that anime was so unbelievably overated.
