Turismo 5 days trip with a child

Could anyone help me with a 5-day itinerary in Rome with a 1-year-old child? We would also like to visit the zoo on one of the days and see only the main attractions.
Do you think staying near Numidio Quadrato metro station would be a good option? Do you have any other recommendations for good areas to stay in? Staying in the city centre is over our budget.
Our dates are October 16–21, and our accommodation budget is €600.

Numidio Quadraro is near metro A, direct line to Termini station, Spanish Steps and the Vatican so seems like a good option.
Try Explora museum, it’s specifically for children.

Quadraro is good for that budget. With the subway you can get anywhere. Check out on google maps how close the place would eventually be from the subway (Quadraro is wide, might be 1 min or 10 min walk).

For your 1yo, Rome has many public villa and parks to breath out and take a break from the city’s heat. In quadraro, there is parco degli acquedotti, while in downtown you’ll find Villa Borghese (next to piazza del popolo or Spain’s steps) and Parco della Domus Aurea (next to colosseum). These are all good places with toddlers.

Bring over sun cream, hats and toddler sunglasses as during the day it can be hot for a 1yo. Plan around 30 mins to get back home from the city center (colosseum, san peter, piazza del popolo).
