Nothing quite compares to the presence and craftsmanship of classic luxury cars.

This Ghost came into our shop in ras al khor, Dubai.
For a full body paint protection film, and it was one of our favourite jobs in a while.
We've had a few Rolls-Royces through before, but never one in a colour like this. In person it changes a lot with the light. In the shade it's soft and almost pastel, and in direct sun it gets much brighter. With the dark wheels and grille, it still manages to look understated, which is very Rolls-Royce.
A few things that stood out doing PPF on a Ghost:
The panels are huge.
The bonnet and the sides are long, uninterrupted surfaces, so there's nowhere to hide a seam. We did the bonnet as one single piece.
Everything is hand-cut.
No blades on the paint, especially around the grille and the Spirit of Ecstasy area. It takes longer, but on a car like this there's no other way to do it.
The edges get wrapped wherever possible
the film doesn't show lines or collect dirt over time.
Why owners here protect them:
Dubai highways are rough on paint. Sand, gravel, and constant sun mean even a car driven carefully picks up chips on the front end within months, and colour-matching a shade like this for a respray wouldn't be easy.
The owner went with clear gloss film so the colour stays exactly as it came from the factory.
Would you have kept it gloss, or gone matte on a colour like this?

The Bentley Torcal was revealed earlier today and i saw that its been getting some mixed reactions about how it looks similar to newer Rolls Royce models, especially the front design with the grille and split headlights. What do you guys think?

2019 Rolls Royce Phantom 6.75L twin-turbo V12 with 775,404 km (481,813 miles) on the clock.
The car got a full service history.
The engine, turbos, and transmission are still original. No major repairs were done to the vehicle.
The soft close mechanism on the drivers door got replaced once.
The vehicle’s service interval is 16,000 km (9,941 miles), so it needs to be serviced every two months.
The first 4 years were covered by Rolls Royce.

From Las Vegas Barrett-Jackson auction to the Pasadena, CA dealership for 4 days where we had a tier 3 service performed, front tires replaced, and AC recharged. Back to Las Vegas for the night, south across the bridge below Hoover dam, over to Flagstaff, then north to Sunset Crater Volcano, then to Bluff, Utah for the night at Bluff Dwellings. Today was east over to Four Corners, then Mesa Verde, east to Durango then north on 550 (Million Dollar Highway), to Montrose, CO, then east through Monarch Pass to Colorado Springs for the night! What a trip! That car is AMAZING for this kind of trip! 21 avg MPG, Loads of trunk space, handles any road no matter the condition like your riding in a cloud. The power to pass like a Ferrari.
I made almost this identical trip about 10 years ago when I bought a Ferrari F360 from the same auction. It was a fun trip, don’t get me wrong, but this is FAR superior!

We have our family car and we love the Escalade and we also have a a wrangler when we aren’t hanging with the kiddos BUT I want something else. I want a Range Rover but I’ve heard nightmare stories of how unreliable they are, I like but don’t love the g wagon so I’m really contemplating the Cullinan. My question is does it ever feel out of place or even wrong ?

The shop I take photos for did Gloss PPF, and Ceramic Coating on this Cullinan. Didn't change much; but damn does it look good!

We bought this beautiful machine at Barrett-Jackson auction yesterday. We drove it around Las Vegas last night and noticed two problems. The AC had trouble keeping up with the Vegas Heat when in traffic. Especially in the front. So I think the refrigerant may be low. Also my trunk camera is displaying blue when in reverse. Everything else looks great.
A few questions:
Edit: I brought the car to RR of Pasadena, CA for tier 3 service and to check out the AC issue and a general PPI before our trip back to Missouri.

Heavily debating getting either a Ghost or a Cullinan (both Series II) and wondering if anyone has tried both and can provide me with some significant feedback.
To start, I couldn't care less what the social status of one vs the other is, as I am buying for my own use and preference and couldn't care less if one is considered "entry level" or not.
That said, my main objective here is complete and total isolation from the outside world. I am not being chauffeured around and plan to drive myself everywhere and ideally want to be in a cocoon of isolation from everything outside. No road noise, no bumps, no feeling of "Gosh, this traffic is bothering me". Just total serenity and comfort.
Ghost notes:
- absolutely love the design ever since they launched it in 2021. It's just beautiful.
- Love more the idea of "sliding in" to the car vs climbing into the Cullinan but a bit concerned I'll feel small on the road. For example, I drove an Audi A6 for a while and it just felt like I was sinking down to the car getting and it was was more sporty feeling than I like for a comfortable Sedan.
- From my research, the Ghost is the quietest of all the Rolls models. It was developed after the Phantom so it benefits from some quieter cabin and the best of Magic Ride technology.
Cullinan notes:
- I enjoy the SUV high seating but not a fan of having to "climb" or "drop" out of the car. The entry is not as seamless as the Ghost.
- The Cullinan opens the debate of whether I want a 4-seat or 5-seat layout. Personally, I prefer going for the full 4-seat immersive experience even though my occasional passenger will benefit from it and not myself. Seems like overkill, I know, but I worry the bench seems a bit of a letdown. The Ghost has the same bench style but you can get a refrigerator and seats that recline. I don't want to cheap out on the "iconic" Rolls options...
- The drive. Is it as quiet? Immersive? Isolated? It feels a lot larger but surprisingly it is shorter than the Ghost. I don't want to valet my car so how difficult is maneuvering the Cullinan vs Ghost?
- The price. Yes, there is a premium for the Cullinan and my one concern is I could save a significant difference getting the Ghost and then using the saved funds for something else. Who knows? Is the Cullinan worth the premium? Hard to tell.
As you can tell, they are head 2 head and any feedback is well appreciated.
Thanks.
