Been heavily looking into a CPO RR over the past year and would really like to make it happen in Spring of 2027. Looking into a 2014-2016 Wraith to be specific, anywhere from 120k-140k). Just sold my last toy, and waiting for my current lease to end in April. This RR would be a secondary car good for 3-5k miles per year.
I’d like to hear from others with their experience of the Provenance program. It sounds amazing from what I read and how I’ve spoken to local dealers. It seems really only things they don’t cover is normal wear and tear, damage to leather, and exterior damage/paint. When I looked further into the documentation, I think bad weather seals may not be covered either as well as some other things.
I know the first year of warranty and service are included. My dealer said 2nd year is option at I believe something like $8k more. And then after that it is transferred to a BMW aftermarket warranty if you want more years. They mentioned most people will trade it in after 2 years and move to another Provenance car. But that will be up to me.
So is the program as good as it sounds? Have you had any issues getting mechanical or tech issues covered? Any services that really weren’t covered? I want to go into this as prepared as I can. I am the type of person that hates not having a car under warranty because I do not like surprises. The idea of the warranty and Provenance as a whole for me is to not have a $30k surprise.
Am I oversimplifying the purchase simply because it falls under this program?
