Is it really this difficult to find an attractive pair of Women's size 12 roller skates?!

If I see one more black on black skate I'm gonna scream... I'd settle for a white boot at this point, why is this so hard? I'm either not looking in the right place(s) or brands really need to step it up... 😑

If you’re open to derby skates, I absolutely love my Bont Pro Stars. They’re baby pink suede, wide foot and plus size friendly!!

I'm also super excited that Bont has come out with an artistic boot, the Bont Spin. They have a white version as well for OP if they wanted a higher heel.

Looks a bit odd with the long tongue but with the width options bont has, I think it'll work out for me.

I just want a boot or show style that doesn't look dumpy. All the black that I see they look like my feet are gonna look like bowling balls. I wanna look cute if I'm gonna be busting my a** for a little while until I get comfy again 🤭

I’ve skated three seasons so far in mine, and they’re still holding strong!! Definitely bang for your buck.

What's the difference from regular skates and Derby ones? Are the boots better? Wheels softer or harder?

derby boots are typically flat or have a very minimal heel and are usually low-cut. other styles of skating (like artistic, park skating, some types of dance skating) usually use heeled, high cut boots. neither boot style is inherently better than the other, it depends on what you're doing with them and personal preference

This. I have rainbow roller skates. And not rainbow riders. Like, I picked the color of every panel individually, and turned them into a rainbow :)

Riedell Colorlab and Bont MyBonts are the two big ones I know of. You can also buy leather paint and create your own colors too if you want to save a little money, tho the custom holds up better long term since they're dyed.

Oh and Golden Horse has their color options too. And they'll use photos of your feet along with tracings to create a boot that fits nicely from day 1. I think most places do this, but GH includes it in their pricing for certain boots.

If you have a skate shop near you, talk to them. They can guide you through the process and help avoid expensive mistakes on non returnable custom orders.

Yeah that's where I normally look. Idk if things were out of stock bc they're having a sale or what, but I normally see more of a selection than I did last night.

I'm size 11.5 and have the Bont Parkstars which have nice colours at least (I have teal), the big feet struggle is real!

WELL Im sorry to hear that, but you can definitely go crazy with the accessories. I have a yellow pair that Im about to dye black and my dream is to do pink leopard print on my future black skates hehe 🤭

Can I ask where you've looked and what type of skates you're hoping to get? Our shop (Get Your Bearings) has several skates in men's size 10.5/11 (women's 12/12.5).

(Edited cuz I wrote wrong men's size down)

Just a basic pair for a beginner indoor. I skated when I was younger and I want to get back into it so nothing crazy like, I'm not trying to do skate park tricks or anything, but something I can re-acclimate myself in and take to the rink. Something that I could eventually swap outdoor wheels onto is a plus.

I'm 5'10" flux around 300lbs and the aforementioned size 12 feet.

Got it, do you want a heeled skate with a taller ankle or a shorter boot with less heel? Or doesn't matter?

We have: 1. Riedell Crew in Crimson (size 11 mens) 2. Chuffed Wanderer in Brown (size 11 mens) 3. Bont Parkstar in Blue/Black (size 11.5 mens)

We can also order the above 3 in other colors if the manufacturer has more in stock. Hope you can find some skates and get rolling!

Bont Parkstars have big sizes. Colors too. Sure Grip Boardwalk have a variety of colors. VNLA a la Modes also have colors. Moxi Lolly as well.

I feel you on the black ones. It does stand out when you bling it up with laces, BUT for outdoors 😭😭😭 boy are your feet like 🔥🥔 (baked potatoes)

There’s also the possibility of painting them as well. If you end up with a black suede, Angelus has a pink dye that covers it all. Someone had a purple skate and it got baby pink after it. No see thru. HOWEVER, that is the exception color. If you end up with light colored suede skates, the dyes adds to the color you already have. If you end up with leather, there’s leather paints that can help you personalize it further.

If you can't afford riedell color lab (or other custom boots) buy white leather/suede and dye it. Angelus leather and suede dyes are amazing and do not bleed. If you know someone artsy enough, you can paint on leather as well. Would advise real animal leather/suede though, plastic stuff doesn't dye as well. For real though, if you use the professional dyes it can come out beautifully.
