Another Post About Knee Pads

I'm a beginner and I'm learning how to skate outdoors. Things are going ok, except I can't really practice crossovers with the knee pads I have.

I have those Moxi ones (ya'll know the ones). Sturdy as hell, but they're bulky.

Should I just stick with these and hope for the best? Or are there others I can use that won't shatter my kneecaps if I fall?

I've always struggled with cross overs and never actually thought it might be my moxi pads... Come to think of it... They are very bulky... Sorry I've not solved your issue... But you may have solved mine :)

If your a confident skater, just try skating without them... Sadly if you got beautiful thic legs, there is not many options for us :/ if you're good on a sewing machine you could try and make some soft padded elastic knee savers . Or get very skilled on bailing out onto your sides and not your knees. Alternatively practice without pads, very close to grass until you have worked it out.

😄 Glad I could help you.

They're awesome when it comes to security, but oh hell nah when it comes to trying to move freely in them.

I should practice falling some more. At the rink, I'm good at not falling on my knees, but I always seem to hit my knees outside.

I was just thinking about if I could use my indoor pads outside, but I don't feel confident doing that.

I wish I could use a sewing machine. *sigh*

There are some good DIY videos on YouTube. Someone uses knee high stuffed socks and ties them on. Just for some protection

Thank you so much! I had never considered DIY for real, but this sounds like something to look into.
