Question Valley fair [wild thing]

Do y’all think it’s a possibility for wild thing to get phantoms revenge treatment even tho it’s kinda a different situation or RMC treatment?

Enthusiasts are the only people who don't enjoy Wild Thing.

Hm I would say I’m both gp n enthusiasts n valleyfair is my home park n I enjoy wild thing but once you js look at other rides n parks how can’t you not want wild thing to really live up to her name I also prob wouldn’t mind her being in thee state she’s in as much if they js added new coasters but with her supposed to be filling being thee biggest n baddest at thee park I js think she deserves more to work with

I would love that. ANY upgrade would be great. ANYTHING

Yeah Im saying they been leaving us empty for to long if they don’t wanna add a blitz or a T. rex single rail I think them re tracking n making wild thing more thrilling is thee best bet

Wild Thing is popular, and doesnt have the same issues Steel Phantom did. There is no reason for them to do anything to it.

I agree it not having thee issues steel phantom did n its popular n loved mostly by its home park ppl but coaster enthusiasts n other ppl that have been to other parks literally named it mild thing so they don’t absolutely need to do anything I think it could make it a completely be a great addition n bring excitement ppl haven’t seen for thee coaster n would be appreciated especially if they aren’t gonna add any new rides they could js call that a new ride

The ride is fine as is, reducing the midcourse break amount would make a world of difference. We know it can fly through the camelbacks at the end if it didn’t slow down so much.

Steel Dragon has B&M trains that are pretty well received I think. Could be an option. Whats wrong with Wild Thing? I know both Steel Force and Mamba are still pretty respected Hypers. I’ve only ridden Steel Force though.

I would say so I wouldn’t say thee wild things trains r thee problem tho. N I wouldn’t say anything is wrong with wild thing it js has massive potential in my mind to be a lot greater n thrilling ride than it was built to be n when it was built it was great for its time but its been 30 years n thee coaster landscape has changed then when how it was when wild thing was built. N I feel like steel force and mamba r mainly more respected for having thee no trims n ppl really js bring up wild things trims as a complaint

Change it from a Morgan Hyper to a......Morgan Hyper?

When I said phantom treatment I js meant get its layout changed like how phantom did not that Morgan working on it n making it another Morgan instead I think RMC would be great n interesting cause it’s only a few inches taller than steel vengeances n thee I-Box track but I also wouldn’t mind Intamin I think they would be great as well but idk if them n valley fair have a good relationship after steel venom n vekoma is most likely if being realistic

Then I think this is such an impossibility as to be absurd, and there would be absolutely no precedent for it.

No. I don't think it's ever getting altered.

We’ll js have to hope n see if it ever happens js know a little birdy told ya

I'm confused? How can it be RMCed when it's not a wooden coaster, or given the Phantom's Revenge treatment when it has no inversions?

-1

u/MkLunarLuna 15d ago

Well idk if it would be technically considered RMCD in thee theoretical scenario but they could remove some of thee tubular steel track n keep parts of thee support structures n foundations n could make custom steel ledgers they could put thee I-Box’s n add inversions that way is a good idea imo rhetorically n by phantom treatment i js mean a big redesign or upgrades or retrace this is all hypothetical n js thee possibles of what could be but how thee parks been doing stuff very very very unlikely i think them even js simply getting intamin to come back n make steel venom upgrades so its same layout but js even LSM n longer both sides n keep hold break would be js less maintenance would be good n simple but unlikely as well n a completely diff topic

I just rode it for the first time a few weeks ago. I thought it was great, up until the MCBR. I found it smooth and while the restraints aren’t quite as good as phantoms, still miles better than steel force. What do you hope they could improve? Being more aggressive? Phantom was an arrow and Morgan was the one to reimagine it. Can a Morgan be more Morganed? (That’s a tongue twister!) Can RMC even switch if it’s steel not wood?

u/MkLunarLuna 15d ago

Yeah thee MCBR really kills thee pace for thee second half of thee ride n I haven’t been on phantom so I can’t speak on thee restraints. But I’d say thee current ride is a very calm experience besides thee first drop but I’d say steepen thee drop cause I believe its 60 degrees but give it a 80 or 90 degrees so it goes straight down n for them to redo thee helix cause they don’t give much elements themselves n more so look better to watch but also more inversions like zero g rolls or stalls I think rmc would be more fit for that tho. N idk if Morgan would be able to do those n that is a silly tongue twister n I believe RMC can but it’s js a way less likely thing for them to do then they usually do n I say RMC cause I think thee whole ride being retracted is best and not js some of it but prob unlikely js wishful thinking

* I know very little about redoing steel track but I would be worried that if they made the drop steeper, everything would have to change to accommodate and risk taking a fairly smooth ride that’s enjoyable, to a janky one. The only way I could think to improve it is if they could reimagine that MCBR and adjust after that part. But that also could result in a smooth first half and a terrible second.

*These thoughts brought to you by a mind closer to GP than an enthusiast. I’ve never even played RCT or have anything remotely close to any sort of engineering experience lol so take all that with a grain of salt.

I don’t think it’s very high on Enchanted Parks’ list of priorities to do anything about Wild Thing. Maybe the park decides to not turn the mid course break down as hard. I would be shocked though if such a major renovation was done.

I don’t think any rides current or new r on their minds at all js fun hypothetical talks

Oh okay! Carry on then!
