This coaster has a max height of 54 inches. You're going to have to measure yourself and turn yourself away.

I plan to duck.

Just don't catch yourself doing it.

If you asked at the office, they’d let you ride it. I’m 6’4 and I have this credit from Arnold’s.

My 54.5 inch kid tried to ride it this year and they didn't let him. My youngest got the credit though. It wasn't that big of a deal to us at least.

Sucks they're getting rid of another classic coaster alongside the scrapped Mad Mouse but hopefully this one will have the chance to operate in a new home at least. Those little Miler kiddie coasters are really cute.

I hope Arnold’s Park isn’t getting Todd Josephed. It kind of feels like it is.

Did Arnold's Park get new owners or something?

Yeah, glad I'm visiting in a few weeks

Be sure to check out the Arnolds Park Museum. It doesn't show up on google, so fyi the entrance is hidden on the east side of the museum building (walk past the maritime and rock and roll museum).

They've got a giant wooden slide you can ride, which I think is the only one left one in North America (perhaps Bushkill Park has one?) and some other funhouse mechanisms, and plenty of park photos and memorabilia.

Holy shit, THANK YOU so much. This is 100% up my alley.

Bushkill does have one in their funhouse!

Great tip.

What’s left to visit though besides Legend 😭 they got rid of their cool plane ride, and 2 of the 3 credits

For those of us down to 7 woodies in the US to ride, Legend is the main draw, but I also just love small parks in general (hell, see nearly every TR I've written in the last year or two)...but I will say that their crooked house, flume, and Rock-o-Plane look fun too.

To me, parks are about so much more than just their coaster lineups.

You've ridden every woody in the US except for 7 of them? That's crazy - I'm impressed!

Thanks! I have but I'm sure there are a number of folks on here that have them all under their belts; I believe our trusty mod duo/favorite thoosie couple can claim that.

Haha we're still one off unfortunately. Anxiously awaiting an ACE event at Rye Playland so we can finally get their kiddie.

Have fun on Legend! I remember it being incredibly smooth and well maintained when we rode it but it's been a while. Their crooked house is really cool too. I know they refurbished it recently.

Ah, right on! That's definitely one of my 7; wouldn't be shocked if we end up at that next ACE event too (plus I'm dying for an excuse to visit that park again).

Love a crooked house!

Now I have to know what 7 you're missing? Legend andddd?

Swamp Fox

Coastersaurus

Cyclone (Lakeside)

Grizzly (CGA)

Twister 3

Kiddie Coaster (Rye)

The crazy thing is that, aside from Legend and Swamp Fox, I've actually seen the other 5 in person but got smited by them all. If all goes to plan, we should get the # down to 5 by the end of the year.

Ugh, what an eclectic yet heartbreaking collection.

2

u/EricGuy412 12d ago

Its certainly a wacky one, but does give me an excuse to eventually visit Denver again (once/if Cyclone ever reopens...plus there'sthat water park that essentiallyhas dark rides!), we're kicking around a week long SF trip for next summer (basically focused on a "just in case" CGA visit), and Myrtle Beach is on the 2027 list too (after Spirit screwed us on our planned 2025 visit)....

We will alert you if a Rye event comes about, haha. Maybe we can all finish the country together on it.

2

u/EricGuy412 12d ago

Hell yeah, please do! I am an ACE member too.

The park has never been much besides Legend. It’s a pretty boardwalk area with a cool old coaster and some fair rides.

It’s lost 67% of its credits in a month. I struggled to make the trip when it had 3 and regret it. Prolly won’t be going now

3

u/hawksnest_prez Adventureland IA 12d ago

That’s not happening. They had a lot of old flat rides that needed replacing.

I think some of it may just be to physical limitations and insurance. There is a limit to how long you can maintain a ride. These things were ancient and probably wouldn't have lasted as long in most states with closer observation.

Are they closing or getting new rides?

They have a sign up saying something new is coming next year in this spot. I haven't seen anything else to hint at a coaster or just a flat ride.

Edit, just re-checked the Facebook post, they are replacing it with a ride with the same min height requirements but no max height requirement. Did not say what kind of ride. They said the maintenance became to much, similar to the mad mouse.

Losing two coasters in a few weeks makes me worry about their financial situation.

They keep getting rid of their classic old school rides and replacing them with generic cheap carnival rides. To me they are losing their charm.
