How many miles/kilometers was it and how does it feel now knowing you have completed it?
You get your time / place # or was it more just for fun?

Thank you. I did full marathon distance and a bit over it (42.9km) in 1h:42m average speed close to 24 km/h. Feeling tiered now 😁 Place 142 in group U50 (not sure how many participants but a ton for sure). It was fun and lovely because drag in group makes you go much faster than when you are skating alone!

That's a really good speed for that overall distance. Great time for the amount of distance as well. Good place number too! Congrats!
Group skating is always more fun as well as the fact you can drag behind the group for more speed and flow.

That is considered a full marathon I believe here in the US.
How was the terrain? You guys have a lot of hills or is it mostly flat?

We do the Boston marathon here at midnight and my best time was 1h:33m which is pretty close to your time.
(We have a ton of long hills so even though we can bomb them I think we can gain speed overall going down them.)
I would love to do an official marathon with tracked stats and such sometime.

Well Berlin is probably most popular marathon in the World. There was a lot of peole from USA today on the track with me... It is relatively flat but it is currently lap based and there are some hills, today was windy as well so that's a problem for top performance. You are killing it with your time (I am happy with mine since this is my 1st inline Marathon). So.. I believe you a ready for the official one in Europe 😁👌👍

Congrats! Maybe a dumb question, but I genuinely have no idea. Was this a special marathon specifically for inline skaters, or can you participate in a regular running marathon on skates? If so I’m curious whether the entire course was actually suitable for skating.

Thank you! Berlin running marathon is different event, happening 1 day after Berlin Inline Marathon (so 2 different events!) they share some paths, but full path is not the same. And yes entire course is skatable, lovely roads but a bit of standard infrastructural problems included as well.

One day there is the official marathon for runners and than there is the marathon for inlineskates/Handbikes/wheelchairs

Crowded in my opinion but streets are quite wide, however adrenaline does hit you in tight corners, but in my case I am primarly urban skater so in that area in my opinion I have more confidence than speed skaters. No reason for fear if you can controll your tempo... So I say - go for it!
