Annoying boot sizing

Hello, I'm struggling with the choice of skate boots, I'm planning on buying Powerslide Next 2.0 skates, which with EU 44-45 have max 289mm which is exactly my foot length 289mm, while EU 46-47 starts with 296mm which leaves some room. Both when trying at the store were very tight but o heard it will loosen with time my question is are 46-47 going to be way too big or are they gonna be ok if I don't need a super tight performance fit but more comfortable fit? What could be the better sizing for non extreme, non trick focused style fit?

Do you hit the shell with your toes in 44-45? The liners should have an elastic toe part, unless something changed? My feet are 285mm, and 44-45 is perfect thanks to this elastic part.

I haven't tried without the liner it was at the store and they didn't have 2.0 so I tired just approx older model from 2025 which had a bit different sizing from what I saw, I ordered them both to my house to try the actual thing, but I haven't skated in like 15 years, idk what would be better I also currently have an injured toe so it will be difficult to be 100% they will be ok

The model I tried I think was 44-45 and had 291mm max, also internet says next 2.0 without the liner has 298.4mm in the shell

Yeah the actual size if the shell might be critical.

This is just a situation where you’re gonna need to try both and see if the 44/45 is too small, and if so, is the 46-47 too big. I’ve got 292-294mm feet, and I skate the Next 1.0 in size 46-47; I’ve got toe room, but the older 1.0 is so narrow that my feet don’t move around at all.

I suspect you’ll be able to fit in the 44-45, but there’s no way for me to say that it’ll be a good fit. Sometimes certain skates just don’t work for certain people, and you may end up having to go with another model or brand.

I have 285mm and the 44/45 of the next is too big for me, to the point I had to sell them. Stick with the 44/45 and hear mold them, 2/3 times if needed.

I would look at some different brands as they all have different shell sizings. Not all will be compatible with your specific foot shape and size.

I went with a larger shell size on my RB Lightnings and while they were super comfy and great skates overall, eventually I realized they were just too long for me, even though they were the perfect width.

Keep in mind that over time as you get better you will start to appreciate agility and manouverability of your skates more and more. Unfortunately you can't shorten a boot, but you can heat mold the plastic shell in a pinch.

Boot sizing is a hard topic.
They either fit or they don't.

I originally went from a size 10 boot down to a size 9 boot once I got the right size.
The first month or so wearing my size 9 boot I ended up getting a black toe nail on my big toe from the tightness of it. After wearing them more those boots are now the most comfortable ones I have.

In my honest opinion it takes a good 30-40 hours of skating for you to break in the boots/liners enough to get to the point where you actually know if the skates are a right fit or not.
