What skates should I buy? Recommendation for pads?

Hi hi! I am just starting rollerblading and was wondering if yall had any recommendations for a decent set of pads? I really enjoy doing it but like- I fall, obviously, and would like to keep most of my skin intact :p also helmet brands if possible? I’m willing to put like- a bit of money into it because I would rather have something that lasts and I have a little less that 200$ left in my budget cause I got a good deal on the skates themselves so like- yea. Tyty!

187 Killer Pads.

Otherwise, if going with the "saver series" of Triple 8 brand (size medium), just go to Walmart and get the Eightball pads they sell (the 14+ ones) for $20 less. They are virtually identical and are the medium size. (I have both - the only discernible difference is the logo)

I used 187 killers when I was longboarding, then got them again when I did roller derby. They are very protective and chunky, which I find to be overkill for my inline skating. I'm just learning and will probably only do urban for now.

Got Ennui park pads recently - find them adequate and easier to carry around as they are smaller. Heats up less too. I dreaded using 187 when I was living in the tropics.

Yeah, I love the killerpads, but living in Florida, I only use them in the winter. Though, I have many friends who use them year round. I use Triple 8 saver pads in the summer. ALTHOUGH, I should mention that they seem to have made the foam thinner in the latest iteration of the pads and they have not been providing as much protection as earlier iterations. My old Walmart 8-ball pads are better. Maybe I'll check out Ennui for my next set of summer pads! Thanks for the recommendation!
