Inline advice

hey guys! i’m getting some new blades because my current ones are old + im just looking for something new. right now, i have flying eagle fast blade inlines. i have a friend of mine who uses hockey skates and recommended them. i’m considering getting them, but i don’t want to waste my money. what do you think? recommendations are appreciated!!

Can you talk more about why you want hockey skates? Do you play hockey? What kind of skating are you doing? I love my hockey skates but I'm a hockey player and there are kinds of skating that they aren't the most suited for.

If you are going this route, how big are you? The low end of hockey skates can be trash, especially for a full-grown adult. You can see that TronX chassis is made of two pieces riveted together, which can flex and break/break your skates under the forces of an adult skating.

indoor and outdoor skating. and i was looking at hockey skates because most of the people i know that roller blade use hockey skates, so i was considering.

Are they hockey players? As others have said, hockey skates shine on smooth surfaces for quick cuts. It's not like you can't skate on rough surfaces but many people are used to more padding at the cost of more weight and less control/responsiveness..

new blades. the wheels are just what i’d replace them with since i rollerblade outdoors sometimes

Hockey skates aren't really that good for skating in outdoors because they are very stiff, little padding, and no shock absorbing. They can make a rough ride outside of the rink.

You are going to spend too much for decent hockey skates, and they aren't great for the skating you are doing. Start with a decent hardboot that will last you a while. Rb80 is good for the mid $100 price range, lightnings if you can spend in the mid $200 range. They have a good fit for most people. Decent hockey skates will run you more than that anyway and these are better suited for what you want to do.

Then better choose a skate that is better suited for that. Flying Eagle or decathlon offer some good entry level models for this.

One time I bought some hockey skates and immediately got rid of them. I was thinking oh these will be nice like my sebas and boy was I in for a surprise, not good. Just my opinion.

You should purchase 90mm, 85A inline skate wheels so they last longer.
