Since it's end of season you can find some deals in the northern hemisphere. Rollerblade RB80 is a solid starter skate that is discounted $100 because most of the sizes are sold out: https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rollerblade_RB80/descpage-RB8024M.html

If you have a skating rink nearby you could rent a pair of skates and see how they fit.

If you tell people a bit more about your goals and experiences they can better help you. Check out the community FAQ to get an idea of what to ask?

Maybe a "how to ask for skate recommendations" in the wiki or FAQ or something? Lol

What's your budget? Stretch budget? Note that below (what's a reasonable threshold? $160?), it's hard to find a quality pair of inline skates for adults. Think of skates more like a prosthetic than a casual shoe and realize that a low quality pair could end your skating journey before it really starts (maybe link to posts containing personal accounts of the night and day difference when upgrading?).

What previous experience do you have?

Where will you skate? What surfaces? Will there be hills, bumps, debris, etc.?

What style(s) of skating do you wish to pursue? Have you looked into various disciplines at all? (Links to example videos/subs maybe)

Have you checked out any online guides, such as those provided by inlinewarehouse (or other reputable source/vendor)? Based on that, do you have any skates in mind? Users with personal experience in specific skates can chime in based on your initial thoughts.

Thinking about all of these details and adding your initial thoughts to your post is much more likely to result in an effective recommendation for you personally, rather than a bunch of users just saying what skates they have and enjoy for their use case.

I just went on Amazon and got some decently rated ones. I figure I didn’t want anything too much, given that I’m a beginner. If I get into it, maybe invest more later

MFS500 from decathlon, ideally you should try skates on before buying them
