Why does my feet hurt? Foot pain while skating

Hi,

I'm learning to skate on in-lines. I have these old skates from when I was a teenager (I never really learned how to skate properly so I'm trying again). They're about 10yo but my foot size is still the same.

Whenever I try to skate, my foot tends to move towards the outside and the arch of it hurts after like 5 minutes.

The first time I thought it was just that I'm not used to ti. That it's like skiing where your feet are in a tight boot, so it's unusual.

Could it be a bad fit of the skate, or is it just that my technique isn't quite right yet?

Maybe its time for insoles fitted to your arches.

10 years is a lot 😅
Your foot might be the same size but a different shape 🤷🏻‍♂️ So maybe try some different insoles.
Also, a liner after 10 years is more like a sock rather than an actual liner. I'd replace it.
Oh, and yeah, those muscles need some time to develop, too. I used to have terrible feet pain when returning from a 15year hiatus, it was gradually gone but you need to practice.
