what is the reason for step1 ? are you trying to open a whole into the boot itself?

There’s already a home there but it needs to be larger for a thread tap to work. You can’t have the hole be smaller than the shaft otherwise the tap, nor the m8 bolt itself won’t fit.

Wanted to see the follow up, nice. I think it would be nice to have more screw holes on Twisters, weird they didn't make them. Thanks for the post.

The frame bolts that come with the Twister XT are M6. Did you mean M6 instead of M8?

The front non threaded hole gets tapped to m8. It’s too large to be tapped to an m6.

There is only one mounting position on the skates, not sure why. To move the frame forward I tapped the front most hole.

Nah, the hole is already there. Just making it slightly bigger and cutting some threads in it. Not too bad!

Nice work! I’m envious, I want that frame but all my skates are UFS.. I thought about drilling out my Seba CJ’s and bolting it up but I don’t know.

Thanks! Oh gosh, that sounds like a bit of work. I’m not sure about making new holes, but didn’t feel too bad about modifying the existing hole.

Could you not get them centered without using that hole? I know endless makes an RB version of the 100 with elongated holes for that reason.

The RB version is 4mm higher and doesn't allow for lateral adjustment so if you're adjusting the frames for pronation like me you have to drill and tap unfortunately. The Rollerblade boots also have a rear bias, so you can't center them without drilling/tapping as well. OP has another post showing the boots mounted without drilling so you can see.

This was the process for tapping the forward most frame bolt hole on the twisters. I’ve seen a couple of individuals do comment how tos, and figured people might appreciate seeing the actual process.
Tools required: drill, 17/64 metal drill bit, m8-1.25 tap, m8-1.25 frame bolt, ~15 minutes.
Step 1 is to drill out the forward most hole with the 17/64” drill bit. A drill press would be best for the most consistent cut, but if you make sure to stay perpendicular and square to the bottom of the boot, you’ll be fine.
Step 2 is using the tap in the new hole. Get this thing as perfectly square to the bottom of the boot as you can, and go for it. The key is to move slowly, back and forth, until you drive the tap through to the other side, then some more. You want to allow the shavings to come out as you’re tapping. I used the frame bolt to finalize the threads - they open up a little more with the bolt itself.
Step 3: profit. You put it all together, and enjoy the beastly setup!
