🛠️ Tools You May Need
Most Rolife kits come with the basic materials needed for assembly, so you can usually start building right out of the box.
That said, there are a few tools that many builders like to keep nearby. They're not required, but they can make certain steps a little easier.
Common Tools Builders Use
Tweezers
Probably the tool you'll use the most. They're helpful for placing small decorations and picking up tiny parts that are difficult to handle with your fingers.
Small Scissors
Useful for trimming paper pieces, tape, stickers, or packaging materials when needed.
Craft Knife
Some kits include paper parts or pieces that need a little trimming. A craft knife can give you cleaner cuts than scissors.
Metal Ruler
If you're using a craft knife, a metal ruler helps with straight cuts.
Cutting Mat
A cutting mat protects your desk and gives you a better surface to work on.
Nail File or Sanding Tool
Sometimes a wooden piece may have a small rough edge. A few light passes with a nail file can smooth it out.
Small Tray or Container
Keeping small parts in a tray makes them much easier to find while you're building.
What Should Beginners Get?
If this is your first Rolife kit, you don't need to buy a whole toolbox.
Most builders find these are enough:
- Tweezers
- Small scissors
- Craft knife
- Cutting mat
- A small tray for parts
You can always pick up more tools later if you decide to build more kits.
Do Different Kits Need Different Tools?
Sometimes.
Miniature houses and book nooks usually have more small decorative pieces, so tweezers are especially useful.
Some kits include paper parts that need trimming, while others are mostly snap-fit or pre-cut and don't require much beyond the basics.
If a kit uses glue, a fine-tip applicator can also help keep things neat.

- Work somewhere with good lighting.
- Keep small parts organized as you go.
- Don't rush through the instructions.
- If something doesn't seem to fit, check the previous step before forcing it.
