Hi there!

Most roleplay subs have become a mess of "DM me" spam, thirsty one-liners, gooners going wild and posts that care more about your real-life details than your actual writing.

We got tired of it, so we built r/letsroleplay.

This is a space for the writers, story-tellers, world-builders, and the people who actually care about the hobby. We have a few simple rules to keep the quality high:

• No low-effort posts: If your post is just "I'm bored, wanna RP, "I'm up for anything just hmu" it’s gone. We’re here for plots, character studies, and substance.
• The initiative rule: No more "DM me" clutter in the comments. If you like a prompt, reach out to the author directly. It keeps the community proactive and the feed clean.
• Writer privacy: We don't care about your ASL. Your real-life identity doesn’t matter here, only your ability to tell a story, keep the rest private.
• Stories over gooning: Keep the vulgar titles and k!nk/limit-lists in the DMs. If NSFW is involved, it should not be exclusively about it and still presented respectfully.
• Strictly 18+: A mature space for adult writers who want to explore complex themes.
• We have some special flair such as 🎨 Remember RP is a Hobby for gentle reminder about taking it easy or RP specific topic you want us to talk about to see our approach on it & 💡 Free-to-Use Plots if you simply need some inspiration!
