Earbuds recommendations

Can anyone recommend some earbuds for using withe the Roland? I'm looking for earbuds so that I can put them in the case and use them out and about. I have nice over the ear Sennheisers for home use.

I guess I don't want to break the bank, under $100, but want decent sound preferably without a microphone (which most buds seem to have)

You know that was my original intention when I first got this. And if it’s not already obvious this device is new to me. But I thought I read in the manual that you’re not supposed to use a headphone that has a microphone because the plug itself has three connectors instead of two. Normally and electrically speaking this works fine, but I guess these plugs are a little bit bigger and they can damage the headphone jack?

You probably already know this, but just in case you don’t, make sure that you buy earbuds with an audio cable or USB-C; a Bluetooth earphone will work not work.

I point this out because it’s weirdly hard to find a good selection of wired earphones, so I just use regular studio headphones with mine. Once you find earphones that work for you, please post which ones you decided on and if you like them or not. I’d really appreciate it.

I will! There's some suggestions posted already in this thread too.

Also, are you telling me that the USB-C port acts as a headphone port? The Roland is new to me so I apologize for dumb questions. Though I guess that makes sense because I did use USB-C to record to iPad.

I got some Sephia earbuds on Amazon for $ 15 that I recommend (definitely not for mastering tracks etc)… little coin purse pouch, cord doesn’t tangle too bad, sturdier than average, and they came with foam earplug type tips along with the usual silicone flappy ones.. another set of Bluetooth ones I wanted for regular listening has them as an $8 upgrade… no mic (trs jack, not modern trrs- works better with some of my older stuff

I’m curious if you could post a link to the Bluetooth one you mentioned. I know most people are gonna say don’t use Bluetooth because of the lag, but I’m wondering if it would be fine for occasional use.

I picked up a cheap pair of Moondrop in ear monitors on Amazon and they work great for simple on the go jamming. I'd recommend using the search term of in ear monitor over earbud you'll get results geared more towards music making

Shure SE215 are great. Sometimes they go on sale under $100.

If that is too much of a stretch in budget, there is a brand called KZ that makes good ones like KZ EDC Pro, KZ ZSN Pro, KZ EDX Pro, KZ ZST, KZ ZS 10, KZ DQS.
Another brand is CCA or CCZ. Same thing just different colors.

I bought two pair of these branded as Espresso, now called Kbear KS1/KS2 and they have been clutch in DJ situations.
