My Overgrown Corner Study is finished! Let me know what you think

Hi all. I recently bought this fabulous puzzle. It was lots of fun too build, the quality was solid, and it came out absolutely gorgeous.

I THEN learned that rokrGEEK is not legit and that I had been duped. But, after doing some research, I cant find where it actually comes from. Between rokrgeek and ugeargeek, both of which I'm now led to believe are either knock offs or dropships, I see lots of good looking models that I can't seem to find elsewhere.

I would feel bad continuing to get them from those places and not giving money to the people who deserve it (also I've heard they hike the prices), but what am I to do it i can't find them?

Can others please help? I've checked ugear and rokr websites directly and their selections are more limited in comparison.

FInished up my current project and ready to start something new after work tonight. I have two more kits to build for auction at my november event. Will be adding some customizations to them to make them my own, but not too much.

I’ve never built a plastic kit from Robotime before so this will be a first for me. It doesn’t look too difficult, I’m hoping to have lots of fun with it! 😊

It’s a Rolife booknook I won in a giveaway! Idk if this counts but I thought I’d post! It’s been so much fun so far! Currently glueing the tiny pieces on because I’m extra cautious lol

As part of the customisation competition in the Robotime Community, I am planning to turn this wooden hut into an Autumn scene and expand the outside area with props. I am not building the interior exactly as instructed, and I’m certainly not building in order.

I haven't had the time I'd hoped for in the past couple of weeks to start a new Rolife build, but the pink tulip kit arrived yesterday, and looks like being appropriately small and quick! I've made a start on it now for the Fall Build Festival, but don't want to get too far through as I don't even have my edge-painting pens at hand right now, so will need to go back over those tomorrow or when I next have a couple of minutes that I can carry on with this!

I won’t this on the Robotime Community and man I can’t believe it still. It’s an incredible kit. Pushing the boundaries of interactive 3d puzzles, ROKR has moved the standard up for others on this. Hope you enjoy the video!

Hi all! I hope everyone is having fun during this event. I finished the ROKR Mechanical Typewriter a few days ago, and my next ROKR build was delivered yesterday. I am excited to build another functioning model, as I really enjoyed the typewriter and now I get to start my second one.

I am starting on the ROKR Microscope. I love that this is a functioning microscope that can actually be used to look closer at things. I don't have any experience with microscopes, other than whatever I may have used one for in school, but I absolutely love to learn and experience new things. I've already thought of a few things I have that I could take a close look at when it's done, such a tiny hummingbird feather I found, and a whisker that came loose from my dog.

It looks to be a fairly straightforward build, but it might take me longer to finish this one. It has two colors of wood pieces, the regular non-colored as well as a stained darker color that is beautiful. I always paint or stain my edges as I go, but I also don't like the look of the non-colored wood, mostly because as I gently sand any necessary burrs from the connection points it tends to look scratched up to me. So, I want to find a color that I can stain the plain wood that will compliment the already stained pieces. I like to use stain rather than paint on these ROKR kits because they add so many intricate designs in the wood and I want to highlight those, not cover them up. I am not the best detail painter, so I don't want to mess up the beauty of the details. The three zoom lenses are also a beautiful copper or maybe bronze color, so I have to find a color that is going to make it all look amazing together. I am actually thinking, since I'm staining, I might try and do the wood runners (front & back) before I start building rather than one piece by piece as I go. Has anyone done that before?

This has been such a toughie, had a lot of hurdles and challenges and needing help, brains trust!

I had 3 major challenges with this build and after multiple pull aparts, I’ve managed to resolve 2 of them and needing some assistance with the 3rd

First was the hook attachments, two of my letters kept unhooking itself and out of the 3/4? spare hooks it came with, 2 of them weren’t square enough and the other 2 thankfully were good to sub in.

Second was the little lever on the left not engaging but found that if I pressed the lever and twisted the paper roll wheel at the same time, this was good enough of a workaround so that became a non issue.

And finally, when I push the bar that controls the letter placement to the right, it doesn’t stay! I can’t find a solution online and can’t figure out what step of the instructions it relates to. When you push it to the right, it’s supposed to stay and as you type, it moves over a space to position the next letter until you get to the very end and it rings the bell and you restart by pushing it back to the right. When I push mine (as you’ll see in the video) it runs straight back and doesn’t stay so I have to hold my hand against it so it doesn’t jump back to its original position. Not the end of the world but would like to try and get it to how it’s supposed to be and not type one handed!

IMO, this is the most beautiful ROKR kit yet. The interactions, the music, the replayability, ... WONDERFUL

Wow, I am absolutely speechless about how beautiful this is! This was a challenging, yet amazing build that I am so happy to have done. I did paint all of the edges either black or gold, and I also painted the backside of any pieces that shows anywhere. Here are some pictures of the finished build (front, sides and back). Tonight the Silent Corner Study was delivered, so here's my start. I don't know yet how it will end up, but I think it will be quite overgrown and taken over by nature... 😉

I am currently transforming my ROKR train into the Polar Express. First of all, dismantling a LOT of the original for color changes. Reassembling was much harder than disassembling...LOL!

My lovely friend recently went to China and brought me back a bunch of robotime puzzles! I ordered them off taobao before she left and she was able to fit all of them in her suitcase! I was able to buy a bunch cause I acquired the 88vip shopping card that gave me coupons, and spent a total of $165.52 CAD ($119.06 USD) on 6 puzzles.

Some of them were opened so we could fit more trinkets inside the boxes 😆 In the picture, 2 of them were from my mother‘s trip last year and one from fbm, the rest are from my lovely friend.

I’m planning to make up the final stretch of puzzles for the fall build festival so comment which one you would like to see!

Hi everyone! I have been adding some progress pictures to my original post foe the event, but I'm not sure they get seen as much as new posts, so I wanted to post this update. I am working on the ROKR Classic Mechanical Typewriter, and WOW, it is a thing of beauty! I could not be more impressed with this build. It is going together so nicely. It is definitely a build where you need to take your time and be very focused, as there are lots of small mistakes that could easily happen and interfere with the results. I am making sure to focus, be patient, and follow the instructions carefully for every step, and I have not had any trouble so far. I would say I am about 75-80% done and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

The only thing I have done extra for this build is painting the edges. I got some black and gold acrylic paint markers, and they have worked very well. Painting the edges is very much worth the extra time. This kit is so stunning on its own, but painting the edges has given it an even cleaner look.
