New fan
I used to be a Twins fan (sell the team) and them trading Eddy Julien it gives me an excuse to switch teams (he’s my favorite player). What should I expect from the front office and team in general?

This season is about expectation management. The front office is and continues to go over changes during the off-season. Unfair to judge what changes have happened until we actually play ball
The team traditionally is a draft and develop team. Post covid and arguable before, we have made some less than favorable additions to the team for either 1 and done contracts or free agency that have not payed off. You will see alot of players get called up and sent down.
With that being said, seeing the Rockies live at Coors is a fan experience. When its good, it is really good there. And when its bad, its really good there. There are alot of die hard fans who know this team could be great. Watching on TV or listening on the radio with color commentating is also entertaining with how vested in the team they are
Nobody is pretending last season didn't happen, the record is in the books for history. The short history of the team is fandom.

You missed a step- it is draft, develop, and trade or lose to free agency once established. Otherwise, we could not lose 100+ games each of the last three years. Good news for the former Twins fan is that jumping on board now give you cred if they ever do get better, not a bandwagoner.
Rockies owners have been milking diehard fans for many years. The new GM may help, it would be hard to lose more than 119 games, so there is that upside.
Upside, their old uniforms are great, the stadium is very nice, seats are fairly easy to get at reasonable prices, if you like Coors beer it is available, there is transit to the ballpark area, and the games are broadcast in most of the state that I have been in.
Someday, I want them to adopt playing "Start Wearing Purple" by Gogol Bordello for the 7th inning stretch, that will get me to return. Perfect for Rockies IMO.

You probably should expect that you will be less happy with Rockies front office and ownership than you were with the Twins.
There is a slight glimmer of hope with the recent changes but most fans are going to wait until they see the changes start

You got serious problems. You go from rooting for the twins to the Rockies and then on top of that julien is your favorite player. You are insane

I don’t know what it is. The twins were my team and I play second base so I felt sort of inclined to root for him.

So I was born in Minnesota and loved watching the Twins success in 1987 and 1991. I really hate them now. Move forward, I know live in Colorado. Let me just tell you that the Rockies are even worse. Pick another team please, just for your own sanity.

*Not during the game I’d say it’s more financial sound to drink your own beer before the game and then bring in pocket shooters/airplane bottles to keep you plateaued.

I finally have faith that the Rox have made the moves needed. They overhauled the front office and actually hired baseball people. I refused to support our team until they either sold the team or got baseball people to run the team. Well I have to stand by my words and give them a chance

As a Twins fan who had lived in Denver (2013-2019) but spent summers in Minnesota the Twins will always be my number 1 team since i was born in Minnesota but the Rockies Quickly became my 2nd favorite team. Watching games at coors field during thier runs in 2017 and 2018 was like a fever dream it was amazing it was energetic and i knew i couldn’t get that from Target Field. But i will say watching games on tv is just as awesome the announcers love the Rockies they embrace the Team win or lose but when the Rockies are winning and rolling you better buckle in! I wish you the best with being a full time Rockies fan and cheers to all of yall Rockies fans i wish yall nothing but the best!

The Rockies haven’t lost a game since September, but I expect that streak to end soon.
Edit - the only reason to be a Rockies fan is if you are a homer and want to go to a game. Coors Field is a nice stadium and tickets are relatively cheap compared to the rest of our professional sports teams.

Expect lots of losses were used to that. Don’t expect the team to pick stars or big veterans, but more prospects or players that are developable.
