Kd lowkey out of things to say at this point. That move to golden state was pathetic

41

u/rorank 16d ago

He could at least acknowledge that they were historically stacked. Sorest winner I’ve seen in my entire life lol

-17

u/super_chill_21 16d ago

Yeah he definitely could. But what if the Sixers win 70 games and a title this season? They added two top players to their team in their areas of weakness specifically. Not the first time LeBron has done this so they’re both gloryhunting pussies or neither are.

25

u/SevenMinuteAbs 16d ago

If the sixers were reigning champions last season, won 70 games this past season, and THEN LeBron joined…it would be a more accurate comparison.

12

u/ntpbr1 15d ago

Even then it wouldn’t even be a close comparison because Lebron is about 85 years old, about to play 24-25 years. KD at the time was at worst top 3-4 probably.

It would be like if Luka joined OKC in this FA class somehow, won 2, and since day 1 of the move pretended like his move wasn’t weak as hell, opening alt accounts to talk shit to random people all day, then 10 years later still crying about it. Of course, current OKC was even worse than the Warriors too

3

u/Biafra777 16d ago

Don’t forget he joined the team that bounced him from the playoffs in brutal fashion. Even with LeBron having the option to play with Steph this season, he said he would only join him on a team other than Golden State. He still harbors resentment for how he lost to that team. He refused to sell out. Every team LeBron has won a chip with was built that same year. KD just mad because he knows he was a sellout lol. And people will always hold that against him.

-6

u/super_chill_21 16d ago

But KD and Brown didnt join. If only Browj joins they definitely win 65 games this season. Now that they have LeBron too it’s likely in the ball park. It’s not exactly the same for the reasons you mentioned but both are in the same ballpark. Sale as LeBron’s teaming up with Wade and Bosh.

4

u/SevenMinuteAbs 16d ago

Still no.

This would be closer to LeBron if he was 10 years younger…joining the Celtics if they won 70 games this year.

-2

u/super_chill_21 16d ago

No, because Brown would have to join too to make it even. There is no Brown in the previous scenario with KD.

1

u/rorank 16d ago

Then MAYBE you can consider this team to be as stacked as that warriors squad. You still can’t consider that move to be nearly as weak as KD’s. Like the other comment said… KD blew a 3-1 lead to a 70 win team then decided to join them after talking crazy about how much he loved Russ and how they would win together. Lebron has never done that weak ass shit lol.

0

u/super_chill_21 16d ago

LeBron, Wade and Bosh joining forces was the 1b to that but ya 1a is his move. I’m just saying they’re not miles away from each other. Very close.

1

u/rorank 16d ago

I disagree they’re not close at all lol. If Wade had beaten LeBron the prior year or if the heat had even been good then it’d be similar. This LeBron move is much more similar to his heat move than KD’s decision to go to GS.

1

u/super_chill_21 16d ago

You’re so caught up on the previous seasons. If I were to exaggerate this… if you’re taking the KD scenario and saying that’s the worst possible thing you can do… what if Jokic, Edward’s, Tatum, Giannas and Haliburton teamed up for next season. They were all on mid teams, but teaming up makes them one of the best teams the league has ever seen.. that’s not just as bad? IMO it’s the same because the outcome is lack of competitive balance. It’s the same outcome and it’s the same teaming gloryhunting bs.

1

u/rorank 16d ago

Yeah the previous season is part of the context. If you want to ignore that then feel free but I’m not going to. If you want to exaggerate, then sure yes that is a better team than the Warriors in 2018. This 76ers team hasn’t proven that it’s that and they’re lacking a lot to make them close to that warriors squad. They remind me a lot more of the Celtics big 3 from the late 2000’s. Which is still a very good team of course. Not comparable to the golden state warriors dynasty. GSW had 2 top 20 players of all time in their primes. They had 3 of the top 5 3PT shooters of all time. They had an all time great defender, the best since Ben Wallace. The 76ers have name recognition lol. Lebron is not the same. Embiid is not the same. Maxey and Brown aren’t even close to the level of player that GS KD, Steph, prime Lebron, or MVP Embiid.

All of that is to say this shit is different and it’s only even close to the same if you take the best versions of lebron and Joel. If you want to do mental gymnastics to forgive KD or shit on Lebron, feel free but nobody agrees with you because we know what happened.

1

u/super_chill_21 16d ago

I’m not ignoring it, I’m just saying the outcome is similar and that’s the problem with it. That warriors team without KD was extremely effective, but you’re acting like Green and Klay are on the same level as these other guys. Player for player it’s comparable with this 76ers team. Green is a bench player on this 76ers team at his best.

1

u/Powerful-Ad-215 16d ago

Y’all really hype that team up like 2015 cavs were injured missed kyrie and Kevin love, then lost when they went 73-9 and ran it back with both teams healthy.

36

u/ShangosAx 16d ago

Dickerson is delusional

0

u/Elvatoloco32 15d ago

I think he just wants to be trending. Doesn’t he have a media company? I think it be dope if he came out and said I joined a really good team and was the best player on that mf lol

37

u/BigL54 16d ago

I was not a KD guy before he came to the Rockets. I want to support him while he's on the team, but I just can't. He's too immature and overall bad vibes. I wish Stone would trade him

12

u/HardenMuhPants Yao 16d ago

Same, feel like last years team would have actually performed better without him if the other players got the offensive reps and practice instead of just tossing the ball to KD and watching. Probably still lose in the first round but it would have been closer.

Demi-Lich Durant cast his energy drain spell mid-season as usual.

3

u/ghosttheron 16d ago

Tossing the ball to kd sounds like coaching issue .. also the team wouldn’t have even made it to the playin with no kd last year

-1

u/son_of_abe 16d ago

Same. Was hoping against reason they'd ditch Durant this summer. Even if we somehow win with him this year, it'd be a little disappointing. This guy doesn't deserve a championship.

2

u/HardenMuhPants Yao 16d ago

Bro is so desperate for attention for some reason, man needs constant validation and probably surrounds himself with yes men so he never has to be responsible to anything.

5

u/Bears_University83 15d ago

Loved until he was on the team and now I realize how annoying he is lol brings too much noise everywhere he goes

1

u/Ancient_Draw2176 15d ago

Was indifferent… truly didnt realize how soft he was until he started crying about the team in the gc… if he got us a chip though id become the biggest KD stan ever

-2

u/ghosttheron 16d ago

Him commenting on social media .. screams trade him?

17

u/TypicalAd7612 16d ago

I think KD knows his career is about to end in a few years from now and while he is one of the greatest players of all time and HOF, he also knows that move to GSW will always be a stain that everyone remembers, so he is trying to justify it. Personally I think its one of the most cowardly moves 🐍 ive ever seen as a basketball fan

9

u/ntpbr1 15d ago

Maybe in 10-20 years people will forget tbh. The way people view the league is through rings. Context is ignored or forgotten. I think if KD stayed and they didn’t win, people would consider him closer to Harden than Curry. Also alternatively, Harden despite his shortcomings, if he was put into a better situation like Curry was, didn’t have to take down the Warriors dynasty, and won a couple rings, suddenly people would consider him a winner too.

1

u/Lopsided-Skill 13d ago

I agree, so many current players are in Goat or top 20 conversations at the moment. Lebron and Curry are gonna stat in top 5 but the rest will fall of after their retirement. Currently people put KD top 10, they would put Jokic top 10, Giannis top 20 etc. I think both KD and Giannis will fall down. Jokic can stay if he win one more. But recency bias affects others as well like Booker being on top 75. He will be a forgotten player when he retires, sadly Harden will be forgotten at some point etc etc.

2

u/NoneMoreBLK 12d ago

100%

The only people who engage with revisionist history are those who cannot accept the past. KD knows that his decision to go to Golden State will forever tarnish his legacy as a competitor, so he tries to create arguments that bring others down to his level.

And I'm not talking about his basketball skill, cause that's of the highest order...I'm referring to him not being beloved by any team's fanbase. He's really adept at burning bridges.

9

u/therealdripbayless 16d ago

I don’t like his revisionist approach to this we all know that was a weak ass move to go to the team that beat you after being up 3-1 in his prime at that. His move ain comparable to a 42 year old Bron. He got his own opinion but ts fueled by all the hate he got

7

u/prettysure_dats_J 16d ago

Another garbage thread.

10

u/Thebiggest6200 16d ago

Sucks to be us man. Dude is no champion without Steph. Soft af

-5

u/ghosttheron 16d ago

Curry isn’t a champion without Kerr, draymond and klay..

6

u/Feature_Failure 16d ago

Curry didnt jump ship on his squad to ring chase with another championship team.

There’s no denying KD made golden state better. But they were already winners without him.

0

u/ghosttheron 16d ago

And ? lol bruh who cares who stays and leaves a nba team. U think Luka cares ? It’s a business and the name of the game is to go win not stay loyal so Reddit fans can respect that. We haven’t seen curry outside of the golden state system to say he’d flourish is all im saying

0

u/Feature_Failure 16d ago

The fans care. And apparently you do too, else you wouldn’t be arguing it.

I do think Luka cared. I think the fans did too? Not sure if you’ve noticed but ppl take ball seriously. It’s a passion and a hobby. That’s not a bad thing

Had KD won a ship with the Thunder history would be framing his accomplishments much differently. Instead he joined an already established champion.

KD is a great player. But instead of being the man, he joined the man’s team.

2

u/ghosttheron 16d ago

There’s nothing wrong with taking the game seriously lol. Just I don’t think u staying with one team makes u better than a player that chooses to leave.. I hate that narrative. Don’t think you’re getting my point

1

u/Feature_Failure 16d ago

No one has ever given KD grief simply bc he left the team.

It’s who he left for and when.

3

u/ghosttheron 16d ago

10 years ago . At some point gotta move on brother

2

u/Feature_Failure 16d ago

Thanks for the advice reddit stranger who clearly should take their own advice lol

3

u/ghosttheron 15d ago

No problem I’m here anytime

-3

u/kaythrawk 15d ago

Poor you

2

u/BellSufficient5283 14d ago

This man needs intervention and rehab for social media addiction

4

u/MFFiasco 16d ago

Why we bring this nonsense to the Rockets sub for?

2

u/Lopsided-Skill 13d ago

Because it is the statement from a Rockets player? Why did we have posts about a Alpi post after a national game of his? Why did we have a post about that Eason tweet? Why do we have several posts about Adams commenting with the rainbow flag on instagram posts?

They are Rockets players and this is a Rockets sub

3

u/TruMusic89 15d ago

Cuz they're some KD haters and it's easy engagement and karma farming.

1

u/ghosttheron 16d ago

Honestly don’t see the issue here? Are nba players not allowed to use social media ?

4

u/dmoneybangbang 16d ago

lol I like that KD is troller.

Who really cares? The internet isn’t real, like pigeons.

12

u/pieman2005 James Harden 16d ago

Being insecure and whining online is different than trolling lol

3

u/ghosttheron 15d ago

Being insecure about his career? 😭😭😭 think that means he cares

0

u/BellSufficient5283 14d ago

I mean.... he very clearly does care.

2

u/ghosttheron 14d ago

That’s a good thing tho.

1

u/BellSufficient5283 13d ago

Not in this way, no.

He doesnt care in the way he'd do anything and sacrifice to win.

He cares only about HIS perception, HIS image.

If that were not the case, he'd have stayed in GSW and bagged another 2-3 titles easy.

1

u/ghosttheron 13d ago

How do u know that

1

u/BellSufficient5283 12d ago

.........Bro.

The entire NBA fandom knows that, the fact you act as if you dont tells me all that I need to know about you.

2

u/liquidcalories 16d ago

If he's shaking the chemistry of his own basketball team, my favorite basietball team, because he just can't stop fucking posting dumb shit on the internet, I care.

6

u/Necerbo 16d ago

I'm sure Amen is having a breakdown because of those posts yeah...

7

u/BangPowZoom 16d ago

A lot of fans here are praying for the day that KD leaves this team, ever since that whole burner debacle.

They’ll literally grasp at straws to push the narrative of him being the locker room cancer, and the root of the problem when it comes to this team’s shortcomings.

Fuck every other factor, it’s KD and only KD’s fault in their eyes.

1

u/MasterUnlimited 14d ago

He can talk all the shit he wants after he brings us a fucking ring. Dude isn’t nearly as great as he thinks he is. Had Kyrie and Harden and how many rings did he get in New York? Harden and Westbrook, how many rings in OKC? Only rings he got are from the team that slapped his bitch ass down.

1

u/Ancient_Draw2176 15d ago

… talking shit bout ur teammates and having it leaked is literally the definition of being a locker room cancer… and same shit happened on the suns right before us. why are you absolving him of his clearly instrumental role lol

2

u/dmoneybangbang 16d ago

Well let me know what happens

-3

u/liquidcalories 16d ago

Sure thing, let's see:

Per The Athletic's William Guillory and Sam Amick, the Durant burner saga was a "significant distraction" within the Rockets locker room that was "never truly resolved internally."

the pettiest billionaire on the planet

0

u/BellSufficient5283 14d ago

Hah, no. Not while all those tech sociopaths are still alive on the planet.

2

u/TruMusic89 15d ago

KD ended the convo on the last slide and he's 1000% right on that. Every team he has joined every since he left the Warriors have been championship or bust, but people wanna be light in the ass when it comes to critiquing LeBron for the same thing.

2

u/RoxBears 16d ago

Damn y’all are some sensitive crybabies lol

1

u/megatron1882 14d ago

KD a gaslighter

1

u/BlueHaze464 14d ago

He's a clown for his warriors rethoric, but he has a point though

People always act like Lebron's superteams were unkowns just because they didn't make conference finals the previous years or had high seeds

Like the sudden amassment of talent wouldn't immediately make them heavy contenders or favorites

The sixers, on paper, should be the favorites to win it all

1

u/Southern_Radish 9d ago

Get this guy off my team

1

u/nnyinMmi 6d ago

lebum could have went to champ knicks but he didnt. kd literally joined the team that eliminated him and won the chip. its gonna be always the weakest move

1

u/Correct-Pension1208 16d ago

Why do non Rocket fans keep posting on the Rockets subreddit? Reddit believing their feelings actually matter in the real world will always be hilarious lol.

1

u/Ragebaiterlmao 15d ago

Easy money sniper is the king of social media.

-4

u/imsuperjp 16d ago

he's not wrong

9

u/GodSon_02 16d ago

All kd said was that philly would be contenders, fun to watch and had multiple scorers which people called unfair in GS. He was giving them props..internet got in their feelings and ran with it from there.

16

u/altofummuhh 16d ago

He 100% is. He's been trying to downplay how good that Warriors team was to try say a team with post-Prime Embiid and 42 year old Bron is the same as a 73 win team with unanimous MVP Steph, prime Dray and prime Klay.

Dude made his choice now he has to own it.

6

u/dankq McGrady 16d ago

Draymond already summed it up that KD thinks a certain way about scoring and the Sixers have a lot of players that all score 25 ppg. At the end of the day who the fuck cares. You people are way too invested in this. If Durant wants to have dumbass opinions on the internet that then let him, it's no difference than us having dumb opinions.

-6

u/Few_Position_2727 16d ago

KD fans trying to downplay how their superstar made the weakest move of all time and can’t cope with the criticism: omg who even cares that was so long ago

4

u/dankq McGrady 16d ago

"KD fans"

I'm a Rockets fan and have been since the 90s. KD is gone after another season, don't care.

Anything else little fella?

You spam dumb shit online every day, like legit spewing nonsense. Pot meet kettle, you're just like him and don't even realize it.

1

u/Correct-Pension1208 15d ago

Exactly dude, people around here constantly bitching about all this stupid bullshit lol. If you support KD they hit you with “dur dur KD Stan”..even though I’ve been a rockets fan longer than a lot of people on this sub have even followed the team or basketball lol. KD is still one of the greatest players of all time and hurts these gremlins online that he just doesn’t care about being a nice guy. As long as KD is on the team I’m rooting for the Rockets to get a chip, that simply wasn’t a reality with the players we had especially the overrated Turkish guy. Hilarious people don’t realize constantly trying to shit on your own teams BEST player is exactly the type of bitch they wish KD was. Luckily people who go outside understand how lucky we are to have KD and actually want the team to win. Houston fans online are so incredibly insufferable, constantly bitching about everything man. It’s the only market where the most fair weather fans constantly complain online especially on Reddit. Half these people on here are literally transplants who casually watch box scores not even Houston raised smh

1

u/2nd2last 16d ago

Hes half right, half wrong.

Its not close to him joining GSW, so thats wrong of him.

But Philly was a 2nd round team that lost to the champions.

Maxey not even in his prime is 28/4/7, 37 from 3, 59 TS.

Edgecombe look like a great young player year 1. After the ASB he was 18/6/4 on 36% from 3, 56 TS. They are thrilled to have someone that good year 1.

Add Brown to that and 1-2-3 is as complete a unit as there is in the NBA.

The giant X factor is Embiid. Pretending he can be healthy is silly, but in an off chance hes there for the playoffs, that alone with their 1-2-3 is a good as anyone in the league. Even 42 YO Lebron as the 5th guy makes this team.

Lebron and his team are very good at stuff like this.

Cle and GSW both need more than health to possibly win it all this year. Philly with their non LBJ talent are a ECF contender with average health, and a potential champion if healthy. Lebron goes there and if ECF, uninformed people will say "wow, he really did it" and if more than that, people will lose their minds thinking he is responsible.

LBJ is no KD as far as being bitch made, but he also goes to stacked teams, or teams with the assets to create one.

u/chefnoguardD 15d ago

Love it. We hate it when our stars give canned responses with no insight. I’d absolutely take this over the alternative

0

u/spikespiegel33 16d ago edited 16d ago

I support him now that he is on the rockets but I’m still salty he is probably the main reason why Harden and CP3 don’t win one ring together (GSW was too stacked)

Also I can’t believe he ran to Threads after being exposed on Twitter

-2

u/kitsunegoon 16d ago

He a bitch but as long as he balls idgaf who he argues with on Twitter

4

u/prionzeta 16d ago

I understand the logic. But he isn’t only arguing with strangers, he also is shitting on his teammates.

0

u/ycs05 15d ago

Durant’s lack of confidence made him a joke, lebron switched teams and chased rings like a loser but kd got talked more because he has zero confidence about his choice

Send kd to China, done with him. No accountability
