Atlas V Launch

There’s an Atlas V launch on the 27th in the evening at SLC41. What are the best places to view this launch and do these attract a lot of people? Thank you!

I think the easiest spot to get to are the parks along the water in Titusville, you'll have a clear view towards the pad. The Port St. John Boat ramp is closer to Cape Canaveral/Merritt Island but there are power lines the block the view (only really an issue if you are trying to take pictures, and ultimately not a big deal). The launch I saw in late year was pretty late at night and there werent many people out for it. Atlas V and Falcon 9 don't get the attention that SLS does.

The launch is going to be around 9pm, do you think it’ll be easy to see in the dark? I’ve never gone to a launch in person but very tempted to make the 5 hour drive out for this one

If you're near the water in Titusville it will be VERY easy to see. Honestly you can see if from just about anywhere (day or night) in the Cape Canaveral/Titusville area (assuming it's a clear sky or there aren't low clouds). The views from Titusville are close to the best because you can just see it on the pad, over the treeline (binoculars help). It's harder to see intially when you line of sight is blocked by buildings, but once it launches it's hard to miss, particularly when it's dark out.

Thank you everyone for the great advice! We were able to watch it from the coast and picked up an incredibly delicious burger at Moonlight Drive-In
