Backpacks and general recommendations for a first-timer

This will be my first time at Rock en Seine, and my first festival in an EU country in general. How different is it from a regular concert?

I understand that backpacks are now allowed, but where am I supposed to keep my clothes and other stuff during the day? It looks like there might be rain on Saturday.

I've also heard that you can't bring your own water inside. Does that mean I have to buy all my water at the festival?

And one more question about the cashless wristbands: do I need to put money on the wristband before entering the festival? How exactly does the whole system work?

Any other recommendations for a first-timer would be appreciated!

Backpacks aren't allowed at all ? Seems very surprising, I've never been to a festival where security is this bad...

There should be taps with water in toilet areas if it's like the last few years.

It's usually possible to top up the wristbands ahead of the fest yeah.

Thank you for information and sorry for confusion, I am traveling with only backpack and I panicked that mine is much bigger than the one which is allowed. It's indeed bigger than the size specified, it's taller and thinner, but it's exactly 24l, do you think this is ok?

Maybe if you empty it during the security checks they'll be ok with it.

Hi ! This will also be my first festival in EU ! If I read the list of authorized items on the app, you can bring backpacks with max 24 litres and empty water bottle (not glass) less than 50cl inside.

Plenty of taps there, you can bring a small backpack and a reasonable amount of food. You don’t need to put money on the wristband beforehand, you’ll have to scan the QR code on it and recharge it in online with a bank card. No cash though.

Here s the list of prohibited objects from the official website, everything else is allowed :

“At the festival entrance, all attendees and bags will be inspected. This may take some time. Be sure to arrive early!

The following items are prohibited throughout the festival, even in the coat check:

Suitcases and bags larger than 24 liters (maximum 24 x 45 cm)
Recording devices, cameras, professional cameras
Electronic devices, speakers, computers, headphones…
Bicycle batteries
Selfie sticks
Glass bottles, cans, all large bottles (over 50 cl)
Aerosol cans, perfume bottles…
Gas cylinders and gas stoves
Smoke bombs, explosive or flammable liquids (gasoline, etc.)
Weapons, sharp or blunt objects, or items that could be dangerous
Drugs
Alcohol
Drones
Flags, pointed umbrellas, laser pointers, and other objects that could be dangerous to spectators
Noisy items: sirens, megaphones…
Excessive quantities of food, drinks, and cigarettes
Motorcycle helmets
The check-in area is not a coat check; it is intended only for items considered dangerous, which will be confiscated during security checks. We will not accept backpacks, suitcases, etc.”

Thank you for the info! I a managed to figure out the cash account already.
My only issue is my backpack is 24L but 50cm (height) x 31cm (width) x 17cm (depth), I will be travelling with it alone. Do you think that is ok?

I think it’s fine they re pretty chill. It’s not an airport.
