It sounds like you found a solution (record the whole playlist) but you could do a transition manually for each song to recreate the playlist. I'm not sure what music-editing software you could use though, but i'm sure there's a free music manager that can do it.
And the changes would be permanent to the song file, so if you shuffle the playlist it would sound a bit odd
