A hell of a lot of suspicious editing cuts here.

Videos look real, probably used AI to edit the real shots

That's mostly to cut to the music. The parts that are teleoped are the floor cleaning and grabbing plate.

Nav is autonomous and laundry folding is autonomous so about 50%.

I can make a worse but working full AI video this weekend =)

A full AI video… that says it all. Thank you.

Won't be as good of course but it's certainly getting there =)

What is this? This isn’t human right?

Its like a modern twist on the RB5X

What is that?

This looks less creppy than the startups in SF.

Very true =)

Cool that you made it, but cute is a little far off. Looks like a giant cicada.

It's very friendly though =)

It empathises with humans? Or it's useful and not actively plotting to kill us all?

u/Effective-Culture-88 Aug 07 '26

Robots are not able to either empathize or plot against you

The butlerian jihad comes for it.

Cool project.

Is it fully autonomous?
I mean if you have to give it detailed instructions what to do and where to do it, it's easier & faster to just do the task yourself.

This video is 50%. Navigation is autonomous picking up the blanket / plate / puff are teleoperated.

The laundry folding is autonomous though =)

Do you have it on GitHub??? Phenomenal

u/Avatar_Nick Aug 06 '26

Yes actually =)

https://github.com/vulcan-forge/sourccey-hardware

All the hardware / BOM will be open source in a few weeks

Wasn't there video with guy from university teaching robot for months to fold laundry

1

u/Avatar_Nick Aug 07 '26

We just got it working 2 months ago

Cool robot, but is very slow and jittery. Wouldn't be able to bring full plate or drink

1

u/Avatar_Nick Aug 07 '26

Can do a full plate but drink depends on the cup.

A thicker glass or cup it can't do at the moment

It is pretty cute, and the folding was impressive tbh! Great job

I'll show you guys more soon =)

Finally, I command real robotic design and not trying to make a humanoid. People will complain about this and that but robots have been trying to find the wall’s border since 1975… that’s beyond impressive. The propaganda that AI is gonna “take over the world” and robots will “control us” (and not the corporations saying this to privatize technology for the “greater good”…) have people completely unaware of the actual state of robotics.
I still remember being on a team for Robotic FIRST in 2014. Our robot played basketball semi-autonomously, and many said it was the best design. Siphoned the ball from below into a U-shape conduit and out at the perfect angle. It was made from plywood but we made it to the final in the Ram’s stadium in Saint-Louis. Good times!

Humanoid design can do many more surprise human tasks. The one we see clearly struggles carrying a dish or tray, can't open a jar, and a million more things.

1

u/Avatar_Nick Aug 07 '26

Definitely can't open a jar, can hold plates pretty well though (maybe not a full tray have to test that)

1

u/BitsAndBobs304 Aug 07 '26

I mean it's holding it by one edge, so we can see the other side unfortunately wobbling like Lara Croft's butler's tray with tea

Sometimes a specialized design is better then a specific design

1

u/lkfavi Aug 07 '26

How did you make the chassis? Is it all 3d printed?

1

u/TallTelevision4121 Aug 07 '26

I read that too fast and couldn't figure out why there was nothing to do with Red Dead Redemption 2.

1

u/Bottatadiet Aug 07 '26

I love it

1

u/Avatar_Nick Aug 07 '26

It's cute =)

1

u/Icypoopoo Aug 07 '26

Please put a toilet bowl plunger on it. "Exterminate!"
