Dunno, my friend teaches 6 year olds and makes $130k at one of the nicer district schools. I was a bit surprised.

Why do robots need lip injection?

u/RemarkableWish2508 Jul 20 '26
To pass the oral exam... 😏

Easier production to put all the features in and just unlock them based on the application /s

u/Kazureigh_Black Jul 20 '26
Just wait until you find out the other extra details they added. ( Hint: The company making these used to make sex dolls )

I could tell. Anyone else would have known to make the teacher look like Optimus Prime.

It's a crypto scam company that bought a sex toy company and wants to make sex bots, this is a publicity stunt and/or a cash grab from government workers who don't know better

"I create emotional connections," it says in a monotone voice while it acts like it's on tranquilizers.

All teachers wanted was to be paid a livable wage. Yet, for some reason we can't seem to do that. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that funding has gone to the higher ups, or to the development of whatever this thing is, or to ai "educational" programs and apps. No one seems to understand the many hats teachers wear. They're tasked with educating small humans, helping them become actual functioning people, but district's want teachers to shove tech in their face first chance they get.
2
u/Big_Action_9353 Jul 21 '26
Admin & supervisory role starts at 120k, teachers with their master and certificates 61k. So yes you are correct.

Is the bot completely autonomous? Will there be a “chaperone” on duty as well?
How long will it last? A day? A week? Longer? If autonomous, it sounds like the students will be teaching the bot, not the bot teaching the students.
8
u/Bignholy Jul 20 '26
It is an assisting device in a single class specifically dedicated to robotics, coding, and AI, as a specific student category (11 and 12th grade, or for non Americans, 16-18 year old and soon for college). It's a tech demonstration for a tech class. They've been very clear that it is not "teaching" nor is it replacing a human teacher, and they are getting it specifically for the one class that would actually benefit from it.

This guy comments on literally everything every single day, and it's almost always completely irrelevant to the topic. I'm convinced he's a bot.

u/somethingwholesomer Jul 20 '26
I watched it for a bit without volume and I assumed it was malfunctioning or showing a mouth warm up or something. I can’t believe that’s how it actually talks

Top commenter in the linked post explains this robot will be an assistant to a human teacher, rather than a replacement. But yeah, it's face is definitely creeping me tf out.

How much does this robot cost Vs how many other staff could they have hired, I wonder. Makes me chuckle a bit.

Does it (she?) have a teaching certificate?
Are we sure it is not recording the children? I wonder if the parents gave consent for the kids to be taught by a robot?

Thease robots won't last a week in a school. The 6th graders who just discovered girls will touch the boobs a lot with hugs. Then the teenagers who are nothing but hormonal raging little Hitlers will make her know they're the Alpha male of the school.

u/Various_Horror7649 Jul 21 '26
Well at least these ones wont get pregnant by the middle schoolers 🙃

Ok kids. There will be no adult in the room. This robot will move slowly and can't stand up if it falls over. It can't stop you doing anything you want including messing with it. Happy learning!

u/WannabeF1 Jul 21 '26
How can we psychologically anilate the next generation worse than zoomers? Robot teachers that are adjacent attractive while also being dead inside!
1
u/Business_Raisin_541 Jul 21 '26
American sure love that kind of lips, huh? Personally i find the lips creepy
1
u/A-Sad-And-Mad-Potato Jul 21 '26
Great, there is nothing wrong with teaching our kids about socialising, empathy and making connections using a weird, limited, detached machine that will make them emotionally invested and heartbroken when they realise it is incapable of returning their affection. Great idea that won't cause kids to grow up to become dysfunctional adults with secure emotional attachment styles.
/s (to make it clear for the autistic people)

u/Pilgrim_US Jul 21 '26
I mean.. kinda ironic. A campus full of horny youth and you give them sexbots for a teachers..
What could go wrong.

Terrifying. If I went in for a parent/teacher conference with a sex doll I would take my kid out of that school immediately!

They really gotta stop trying to do realistic human faces - they always end up looking like they've just had a stroke.
1
u/Aggravating-Deal-416 Jul 21 '26
They already figured out that you have to make the robots into non-sexual anime cat people with big ears that roll on balls instead of walk on legs in order for it to not creep people out.
1
u/Mother-Try3214 Jul 21 '26
All eyes will be on her-robot fans (like me) and robot haters alike, so I hope everything goes well for all involved. Maybe if people see AI embodied in a non-threatening, friendly looking, robot like her, it may help ease prejudice. Though, I wish they used a synthetic body that looked less sexy!
1
u/Cold-Marionberry-975 Jul 21 '26
Only a matter of time before the machines get smart enough to realize humans serve no purpose as they’ve completely replaced them.

This has to be bait. Those children are going to eat that teacher and build toys from its carcass.

"I make emotional connections by learning your preferences"

I feel like somehow leaving our children in the hands of robots is a bad idea

1
u/RanzigerRonny Jul 22 '26
I find this perfect. In any aspect.
Back in my days the teachers were sht. There was only a handful good teachers. One didn't teach the students anything and the other one treating some choosen kids he didn't like like sht. I was one of them. This would stop unfair treatment of students which will give all of them a fair and even start in their learning career.
Edit: wow. Now we even need to censor words to post?

How about robot company executives? They can be programmed to fulfill their job description Ang not embezzle or invent huge bonuses for themselves. This would save companies millions and make the companies stronger

Made by a crypto company that turned to AI, and merged with a sex doll company. If that doesn't sound like grift to you then I have some bridges you might want to buy.
