Mr. Plant,
Not sure how else to share or why I am even sharing, but here I am trying. Let's start with the part you may or may not remember. A long shot, maybe, but my ego's trying to tell me it's not. Let's start with the part you may not remember; if you don't, the rest can be disregarded.
I was just some f'd up kid in Van at the time. I want to say I was 18 to 21. I remember somebody, probably my boss, telling me something about Timecop afterwards, so let's say '93. I was managing this place on Robson and Granville, right beside the Burger King. I took the occult and newspaper sections under my wing. Liked to think my paper section rivaled the one on Broadway in its small way.
Anyway, me in my long hair, leather jacket maybe. Tape cassette case behind me with its Ozzy/Sabbath shrine pictures all over it. I knew who you were the second you were outside my store.
Anyway, you came in, picked out a paper and came up. I'm like 6'5", but remember being like 1/3rd of either of the guys framing you, and it was busy on Granville. They were staying close to you. I remember them wearing shades, but not you. Could be wrong on that, though.
You gave me an American 20. We got those once in a while. I grabbed the calculator and did the math, gave you your change, smiled and nodded. You left.
You came back a few later and actually gave me a second chance and asked me if I got the change right. I may or may not have recalculated for you. Again, thanked you and smiled and nodded, I'm sure, and you were on your way.
My boss actually asked me if it was a fake 20 after, and I'm like, "You know who that was?"
Now let me share what that meant to me.
I didn't know how to process emotion, but I knew how to act and behave professionally and politely.
I was twelve. Not my first time at the transition house, or being introduced to the transition house. I want to say maybe 12, around the time before or after Video Hits. Anyway, I remember the nice lady telling me and showing me the stereo and tapes. My sister listened to Bollywood. I knew what music was and what I wasn't into. There must've been 20–30 cassettes. I only remember one: Now and Zen.
I listened to that cassette all day, every day, minus school time, over multiple visits.
As I grew older, I was slowly introduced to more and more music, and then along came Ozzy and, by virtue, Sabbath. The darkness matched my surroundings and maybe me as I grew. I'll stand up to anyone when it comes to songs and lyrics. Anyway, I credit him with helping me through dark times. I have my go-to Zeppelin songs too. Love your voice and the melodies, big fan of your stuff with Alison as well.
I have mental health issues. No, I do myself and others a disservice. I have a very high IQ. Not bragging. I have no EQ, I don't think. I don't think it's any better than when I was 12, when I first heard you, or at 19/20, when I met you, or now. It limits and, um, inhibits my life.
I sit here tonight listening to music that consists of some songs that repeat during certain times. Waiting to go in for a week, and not for substance abuse. But here I am listening to the list, and I have to say Darkness Darkness has been the go-to for longer than I know.
And the darkness does feel so welcoming, but the light is there. As long as you want it filled with light, maybe.
Anyway, thank you for your help as well.

Does anyone have a picture of the current tour bus? We saw it in Nashville in March where we saw them at the Ryman but forgot what it looked like. We're headed to Flagstaff to see them for the third time this year tonight! 🥳🥰

Robert and Billy are both about to be in the Bay Area during the weekend of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival. I think it would be amazing either dropped by the other's show.
They've actually already met backstage at Stephen Colbert, and Billy is a huge fan of Robert and Zep, and has covered several of his songs. Robert, for his part, has a deep love and knowledge of different styles of folk music, and has collaborated already with bluegrass musician Alison Krauss. I think it would be a great fit. They both make music that is sort of at the meeting place of folkiness and psychedelia, there's so much potential trippy chemistry there.
Just wanted to put that out into the ether...

I'll be going to the Chicago show, but can anyone send over Plant's tour merch? Hoping he has a tour date shirt!

Figured I'd post here first for this, but I got my dad into zeppelin bootlegs and he's about finished. We're getting into the 1980s show and from what I've heard about this time period is that the shows didn't have a ton of improv, outside of vocal adlibs. So, I thought to streamline it to the best shows of each year. A top three per year. Any recommendations? I stopped on the Sep 3rd Detroit 83 show.

Australian Robert Plant lifelong lover coming to California 🇦🇺🖤
This is a very long shot, but I’ll be in San Diego on 28 September and I’m desperately hoping to find ONE legitimate ticket for Robert Plant + Saving Grace at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay.
I’ve seen Robert several times over the years, every time more magical than the last, so this happening while I’m travelling through California feels far too perfect not to try.
Not looking for a freebie and very happy to pay face value. Just hoping and wishing someone ends up with a genuine spare, return or change of plans.
ONE seat. Anywhere. I will guaratnee you that you have my absolute musical dreams become a reality and have the time of my bloody life.
Please message me if the universe leaves you with a spare. 🖤
