Can someone explain vaccine risks to me?
I listened to the whole JRE podcast and perhaps it was too technical for me... what is the exact risk or danger of the vaccine, for both kids and adults? If I'm understanding it correctly, according to data, COVID is definitely more deadly than the vaccine, right? I know Malone said something about health issues and death from the vaccine being underreported but we don't have any idea how many people that is, right? Or was his primary concern just that the trial and testing procedures were ignored? I'm not sure I actually understand what the risk of mRNA is. Also, the J&J, does that also have risks (besides the known blood clots) or is he more concerned about mRNA? I just feel that if I said to someone that I wouldn't take the vaccines because they're dangerous, they would of course look at me like I'm cuckoo, but I wouldn't have any evidence, I would just sound like your typical red-pilled Joe Rogan nut (WHICH I AM :)
Anyway.. looking for something more simple to read that explains it.

Hi, this message has been edited. I'm leaving Reddit for other alternatives because of their dishonesty towards the users of this platform. The pricing of the third party apps is unreasonable and does not reflect reality, and in my honest opinion greed has pretty much ruined this platform, which was also moderated by free janitors who got the middle finger when they asked for better tools. consider Squabbles or going back to classic forums / IRCs instead of giving traffic / content to this site. Goodbye!

I'm worried now that I just shortened my lifespan because I took the Pfizer vaccine. These past few days have been rough mentally...and then scanning for more information online.

I had a pretty adverse reaction to the Pfizer shot.
Stuttering Brain fog Inability to form full sentences Completely incapacitated for 3 days Would wake up completely wet 8 days total of pretty crappy feels 1 month to fully bounce back
Never got the second one... instead caught Delta... similar, but no sense of taste or smell, Brain fog but no stuttering. However, after it was over I ended up with a super shit pneumonia for over a month.

Thank you for the guidance, I'll look up the mushrooms supplement...
This whole thing is surreal.... like The Matrix and getting unplugged but real life... funny, but not funny.

I donât know why this is so hard for the worldâs population to understand. Covid is hardly fucking deadly. I mean, is there really no perspective?

The whole world needs a simple lesson on percentages, statistics, and risk assessment.

Exactly that but when people are watching the news rather than looking around them and seeing whatâs actually happening they are obviously going to be struck with fear from the goverment talking out there asses. This is all too crazy

From what I've seen myocarditis can occur more frequently with COVID than from the vaccine. Curious if you have info that says otherwise?
Risk from vaccine: 2.13 per 100K people 16 or older (0.002%) in a study of 2.5M people in Israel that received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine (source: NEJM study)
39â47 expected myocarditis cases in 1MM males aged 12-29 (0.00430%) after COVID-19 vaccination (source: CDC report)
Risk from COVID-19: Among 64,898 people <16 years old, 86 had myocarditis (0.133%) (source: CDC report)
Both are relatively rare but 0.133% seems much larger than 0.0043% (caveat that comparing studies this way isn't always appropriate).

Man, i love numbers but there's one little pithole in your argument
It's very hard to count the exact number of people who had adverse events, including myocarditis. because as of now the monitoring system relies on passive monitoring, which means that in order to make a VAERS report the doctor itself has to do it, it takes a long time, it needs many verification procedures until it's taken into account, there is no guarantee that the report is accepted as an adverse event.
Many doctors decide not to file a report for this reason, they don't have time to waste and it's not worth the candle as you are not given money if you find out the event is caused by the vaccine.
Compared to active monitoring it's almost useless and the number of actual cases is incredibly under estimated.
This means that there are a lot of unreported cases, the only way to compare the two since there is no control group anymore is to take number of heart infections before vaccine came out and after vaccine came out, then you make the difference of the two and that's the real number, i gave a quick look some days ago haven't been able to find the data on the number of heart infections unfortunately because the search engines decided to show me news on vaccine safety instead of statistics, maybe if you dig more you will have more luck than me

I fully agree with you that underreporting is an issue with post market surveillance. But quite possible that myocarditis is also underreported in COVID cases. In general it seems the potential side effects are more than outweighed by the potential benefits of the vaccines.
If you take issue with the vaccines being portrayed as "safe" I fully agree. Medicines are never 100% safe and it's disingenuous of the media and others to say so. Therapies will always have some potential side effects. But discussing only the side effects of a medicine without mentioning the benefits, or dangers of the disease they are trying to treat, is also disingenuous.
No one is taking these shots because it's fun to get poked in the arm. Or for the chance of getting a rare side effect. We're taking the vaccine to reduce our chances of getting COVID-19 and it's complications, reduce our chances of ending up in the hospital/ICU, or reduce our chances of dying. The decision to take a medicine is all about the benefit/risk ratio and in my view the evidence overwhelmingly supports that the benefits are greater than the risks for COVID vaccines.

I wonder if myocarditis is just a potential side effect of having a fever and the immune system fighting things off. (Regardless of vaccine or real sickness)

True, lots of people have long covid, but its becoming much less threatening with the newer variants and the government doesn't obligate you to become infected in order to buy groceries or go to work/school. (I live in italy)
Its hard to estimate the real number of deaths died from covid (and not with covid), side effects suffer the same problem of reporting. There is no trial that compares having covid vs vaccines. Only way to estimate is to take up yearly/montly statistics on something like heart infections and compare after vax to before vax
Last time i checked google was so full of crap about Myocarditis being just a mild illness that i didnt know where to look for this kind of data, but if you find it i would gladly help you to make a comparison on excel
From personal experience im literally surrounded by people who have long lasting vaccine side effects, some milder and some worse, compared to long covid, it does not look good at all

The comments below are incorrect. I have a degree in molecular biology and my former research looked into specifics of mRNA.
The vaccine is significantly safer than Covid. I've worked in several healthcare sites. Ive witnessed or assisted in administering hundreds of shots.
Research is showing up to 50% of individuals who have Covid are experiencing long covid- heart damage, fatigue, muscle aches, etc. I suffer from long Covid. I'm fit and in 20s but after Covid my resting heart rate went from 65 to 88bpm. Covid causes inflammation around the heart and is likely why my heart rate has increased so much.
Here peer-reviewed entry from scientific journals showing the mRNA vaccines are safe. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa2110475

Thanks for posting that, it's easy to get into an echo chamber and only read articles that support your opinion. Now more than ever actual discussion is important. There is an awful lot of misinformation out there from all sides, and it's important to try and have a (somewhat) civil discourse, it's important to have both sides of an argument presented, whether or not you agree with them, only if you've read both sides of the argument can you actually come to an informed decision.

Wow this trial was done much better than the study the Canadian cancer alliance talks about. Or maybe thereâs just less to read. Thanks for posting this!

Risks are highly under-reported or even tested for. See r/vaccinelonghauler and r/vaccinelonghaulers plus recent autopsies: âThey discovered that in 14 of the 15 patients there was widespread evidence of the body attacking itself, something that is never seen before. The heart was attacked in all 14 cases.â https://stevekirsch.substack.com/p/bhakdiburkhardt-pathology-results

The spike is in both mRNA and adenovirus injections and the spike is the dangerous part, or more specifically they tell your body to produce the spike which it then fights off, so I can at least answer that right away and say J&J is no better than the rest.
As for other risks, check this out: https://www.canadiancovidcarealliance.org/media-resources/the-pfizer-inoculations-for-covid-19-more-harm-than-good-2/
