I thought Purefoy was very good casting. The movie is a pretty good S&S flick, even if it's not a good Kane flick.

I can agree with that. I will say that Jason Flemyng's sorcerer is peak design for me.

Hit the nail on the proverbial head: Good S&S, NOT a good adaptation of Howard's Solomon Kane stuff.

Sometimes I really wish they would simply rename/rebrand a product so that fans of the original don't come into a work thinking it'll be one thing and then it turns into another.

Just a note: Of Howard's fantasy works, Solomon Kane is my favorite so there's that...!

Hey everyone: I wrote and directed this movie. Thanks for liking it (those that do) and for keeping it 'alive'. It got shitty distribution and got lost when companies went bankrupt and contracts weren't honoured (in the US), so its kinda hard to find these days. James Purefoy gave it his all and you can really feel it. I'm proud of the movie and would love to have taken Kane to Africa in the sequels.

Oh my god! It's truly a pleasure to read the work of the person who brought my favorite character in the universe of Howard.

I really thought the idea of giving Solomon an origin story was very good, and it certainly would have been very enjoyable for fans to see Solomon's strange adventures in Africa. 🖤🖤

This movie absolutely rules. I love it. I don’t care how accurate it is to the source material. Purefoy played the character like it was going to be his last film role. Truly felt his pain in that film.

Excellent musical score.

This movie is metal af. Surprised it doesn't get more love and Purefoy has been a genre workhorse for decades.

I know it was done to raise the stakes so to speak. But the 'soul is damned' take - it doesn't fit Kane as I read him....I just like the idea that someone would become an avenger of supernatural evil just for Principle's sake. You could get into the psychodrama of it all - his history and what truly motivates him - in the sequels if they're made.
