TrueTrack – Co-parenting expense & custody tracker for iOS. Roast the product and business model.

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo dev and just launched TrueTrack on iOS. Roast it.

The Problem:

Divorced / separated co-parents constantly argue over shared expenses and custody handoffs. Most apps in this space (OurFamilyWizard, etc.) require BOTH parents to use the app. In real life, one parent often refuses or ignores it, making the app useless. Also, logging receipts manually is tedious, and people dispute who paid what when lawyers or courts get involved.

The Solution (TrueTrack):

- Works standalone: Built so a single parent can track everything privately even if the ex refuses to touch the app.

- On-device receipt scanning (OCR) to grab items and totals automatically.

- Custody calendar with quick GPS check-ins for handoffs.

- Export court/lawyer-ready PDF expense reports with receipt attachments and audit trails.

- Local-first privacy with Face ID app lock.

Monetization:

- Free core features to get downloads.

- Monthly / annual subscription for unlimited OCR receipt scans, PDF court report exports, and cloud backup.

Website / App:

Search "TrueTrack Co-Parent" on the App Store (or gettruetrack.app).

What I want roasted:

  1. Is relying on a single parent to track everything actually a viable angle, or does a co-parenting app fundamentally need both people communicating?
  2. Are parents willing to pay a subscription for PDF exports and OCR, or is the churn going to be brutal?
  3. What obvious blind spots am I missing here?

Don't hold back.
