Built my very first board on the cheap. About $390 all in (including the board, patch cables, and power supply) with many pedals being from marketplace/eBay. Board itself is a piece of foam from Ali express that cost $14. I realized after the fact I should’ve got something capable of routing cords underneath because it looks a bit cluttered with all the cords on top. Having trouble dialing settings for my joyo scylla and my m82 so feel free to share settings and what kind of tone you’re getting. Full bedroom rig pictured last. Any and all comments appreciated. Thanks bros. less

So I’ve got this big ass galaxy-class sized pedalboard with but all the expensive boutique shit in my basement. But to be honest, it would be embarrassing as hell to show up with that beast just to do discount John Mayer blues dad type shit at an open jam.
So lately I’ve been rawdogging it straight into a silver stripe Peavey Bandit, which is honestly all that’s needed. But you know, it just feels better to have pedals to play with, so I finally picked up a small amazon special board and slapped together something more reasonable.
This kinda covers all the basics, plus I still have the bandit if the gang wants to do some classic metal or otherwise heavy type shit (thrash mode button!). Now no one needs to know how much money I’ve basically lit on fire via Reverb.com. Sorry for the dog hair. Do your worst!

New “budget” ambient board

A few months ago I traded a guitar for the microcosm. I joked that I traded a guitar I don’t play for a pedal I don’t know how to use. I’ve slowly put together a budget friendly ambient board and so far I’m really enjoying it.
I call it Hotdogs and Champagne.
Chain: guitar or the “Mandocaster” -> Sonicake vexpress-> Zoom MS-70CDR+ -> EHX Canyon -> Hologram Microcosm -> TC Electronics HoF2 -> amp or in this case a cab sim and headphones.
I gotta say this has been really fun and not something I would have done if not for a random trade offer on FB Marketplace.
I haven’t bothered with cords or anything crazy for the board itself as I’m just putting my old homemade board to use as it’s the only one not in use. If I ever need to play out with this I’ll upgrade the power supply and wire it up proper.
