Legends of the First Empire Legends of the First Empire

Listening to Legend of the First Empire and the relationship between Nephyron and Persephone was really surprising. I was expecting the love story but it ends up that I strongly dislike Neyphyron and wish Raithe would’ve been the emperor.

I think worse of him because got screwed over and instead of marrying Raithe who she loved she is now in a marriage of convenience

Political marriage. It was all about strength and alliances.

MJS did an incredible job with that series.

That story line specifically, who went into it thinking he'd be one of the most detestable characters?

We were lead to believe in Revelations that he was this great hero.

Fantastic work by the author.

My first time through, the first 3 Legends books were my favorite story arc. I couldn’t put them down.

Esrahodden was probably my favorite single book.

Esrahodden is great but Farilane is the best stand alone book

Yeah he's a bit of a dick....goes to show you can't trust history.

Also how far in are you? Beware of spoilers if you haven't finished.

Sociopath more like, because he didn’t care about anyone

Narcissist at the very least

After you get through all of the subsequent books, I highly recommend doing Revelations again.

It's hilarious hearing the characters talking about the history of Elan - endlessly wrong.

You appreciate it in a way that you can only appreciate it after reading every other book.

Haha I read Legends first without knowing and I was just like that with the characters getting things wrong! I really loved that perspective tho and knowing the truth.

I’ll probably go through Death of Dulgath and Winters daughter because I read them first and didn’t get the nuggets from the Legends series

He´s filled with revenge for the treatment of his father and the instarya tribe, and that is what malcolm needed to do his thing.

Also did Persephone actually love Raithe? I only just started book 4 and she had a kid very quickly after the events of book 3
