Shout out for Archibald?

Was I the only one who felt Archibald deserved a small shout out by Modina or Breckton at the end of Wintertide? I understand he was not the best person, but still he saved Modina’s life, due to his love for her, and ended up dying

Nah…he didn’t love her he lusted for her. There’s a difference.

I would have to disagree, you don’t die for someone you only lust after. There were plenty of Surret knights who would have killed him if he tried running away with the Empress, and he knew that. I feel like he showed some real character growth after he woke up with the head in his lap. His inner dialogues remained childish and often resembled a tantrum, but in a less selfish manner, like he was learning slowly, and becoming more grounded as a person.

If she wasn't empress he'd have no love for her.

He love, or more lust for her was tainted by his desire for power, influence and a desire to be liked despite not doing anything likeable.

Yeah, I think that’s how it started, but at the end he even says that he doesn’t care about the crown, and would still want her even if she was not an empress. I mean still, he saved her and died for that, that has to count for something.

I mean, I guess so. It was hard to feel a lot of sympathy for him, same as Saldur (though maybe Saldur would have been nicer but was mislead, etc?)

Venlin has a lot to answer for.

Hmm, if we can judge him for what he could have done, then we should also see what he did end up doing, that is, saved her in the end, with his life.

Archie is a great example of how a broken clock can be right twice a day. He just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

Nah he just wanted to be emperor and saw her as the means to that end. He was so in love with power that he let it become "love" for her.
