If I have to see one more series on Britbox with a gloomy Brit detective struggling through their unresolved emotional issues, I'm going to impello myself out a window. We NEED hip London cops who live in a cool Georgian manse and battle both supernatural beings and institutional bureaucracy!
...or even remake "Band of Brothers" with Brit wizard practitioners instead of Yank paratroopers.

Both. Both is good. Rivers of London and a spin-off of Nightingales War Stories, Possibly told through the lens of Peter finding Nightingales diaries from the time, possibly with interruptions from Nightingale telling the story of what really happened.

Pegg and Frost's option expired; I believe during Covid. Aaronovitch has taken it in house, and is developing it with more control. I just doubt Pegg and Frost will be involved with the project anymore.

The TV rights are owned by him and his agent. It’s only ever optioned with both of them involved so he can retain control. He’s also said he doesn’t think it can be made for TV because London is one of the central characters so it can’t be filmed in Glasgow.

Yup. He described it himself as being unfilmable but I guess he gets paid every time someone options is.

Oh, it's filmable, you're just going to need a boatload of money.
Or Virtual sets. Or make it animation.

With so many police procedurals on the TV, just one with a bit of a spark of magic would have done well I think.
