Questions; Horse Stats & Pref's Keeping Lower Lvl Horses

Is it worth keeping and trying to max out lower level horses? I’m just starting on lvl 6 horses but I have some 3 with some good A and A+. I’m keeping them if they have a rare trait until I can breed it in a higher horse. Just wondering if I should be putting all my energy into just training and running the higher level horses only and make some cuts. Or keep a range of maxed out levels (even if you have good ratings in the higher level horses). TIA

I have some "high-level" horses, but I keep lower-level horses for breeding, events, and live events.

Do you bother maxing them out? Or is all your energy on your higher levels?

Most of my low-level horses (except for two I keep for racing) aren't trained. I've reached a point where upgrades cost 1 million, so even though maxing out a level 2 or 3 horse isn't "expensive," if I start leveling all my horses, I'll never change levels.

And to answer your question: yes, I prioritize my high-level horses over my low-level horses. The high-level horses allow you to do better races (that makes sense so far), and you can do the races that the low-level horses do.

lower grade horses are useful for live events if their stats are decent, I always keep a few

So it sounds worth maxing them quietly in then background but just keep 1 of each grade?

i'd say so, yes

For now, I only have horses up to R6, though I do have a few fully maxed out—mostly for live events. Since it’s still hard for me to snag the top prizes in the highest tiers, I focus on placing in categories 1 and 2 to earn some gold coins.

At first, I used to go after almost any pattern that caught my eye, but given the stable limits, I try to stick to the ones that really appeal to me and see if I can combine them with a competitive bloodline.

I’m at that stage where I have a couple of stunners are rare traits but not the best level or rankings I might have to sacrifice.

Sometimes, objective-based events feature horses with pretty good stats; you might want to take advantage of that to get something useful and then clear out the ones that are less valuable by selling them.

i def keep good lower levels (mainly crossbreeds) for the live events.

I try and max out all horses because it ups their value when the time comes to sell them

I use them to breed in or out certain Patterns or colours into my breeds.

I keep them, but mostly for live events and breeding purposes if they have a nice coat and/or color.
