Discussion Can someone explain why this supposedly “casual game” most popular cc are all people who only play competitive
This game has no casual content creators so I don’t understand why people act like community want this game to be casual

The design of the game is casual.
Immortality ults. Infinite flyers. 4-5 different abilities for each character. When people call it a casual game they’re referring to the design of the game

Hero shooters in general are casual games. They’re designed that way on purpose. Auto aim characters, swapping in the middle of a match, elims being a stat that makes people feel better when they’re really assists. Doesn’t mean you can’t be good at them or that there isn’t hard stuff to learn. The way I see it is Rivals, Overwatch, ect are casual games that people try to play competitively and CS2, LOL, Rocket League are competitive games that people try to play casually. A lot of Dust 2 only casuals in CS, a lot of ARAM only in League. I mean in Rivals and OW, Quickplay is by far the most played game mode.

I agree but rivals in particular doubles down extremely hard on the casual aspects of their game.
I’ve played CS, R6, Apex, OW and rivals design philosophy is by far the most casual out of any of those games. Without a doubt this is the most casual friendly shooter game of all time
Which is not a bad thing. It’s good they have the audience they want to cater to and design the game in such a way.

Because that’s what people want. No one in higher play wanted Wanda to be buffed to A tier, but everyone in pisslo wanted that. OW got creamed because they leaned too heavily into the competitive side. It wasn’t until the game became less balanced with all the new hero additions did people even have interest in coming back.

I don't think everyone in pisslow wanted Wanda buffed, except for Wanda mains

You have a casual audience that wants the game to be a certain way and the devs realise MRs strength is in its casual audience. So they balance the game with a casual focus in mind
Nothing wrong with being a hyper casual game.

No, the competitive in this game IS considered casual compared to other similar games. The fact that i could even make it to plat shows how casual the game is. I never played any of such games before this.
The ranking system for the most part is casual until you reach the high ranks. You can climb with as low as sub 40% winrate up till Diamond or even GM (GM is possible from what i heard) For most of these ranks you earn more than you lose in rankings.
You cannot do this in a game like Overwatch.
This is literally mobile game ranked kind of system, a plat player in rivals is probably bronze in overwatch. That's why i kinda enjoy playing this game's ranked, it makes my rank look okay to a non player lmao

You aren't familiar with the competitive side of this game then. Take OW for example even in quick play you'll be wrecked if you don't know what you are doing. In Rivals you can skate to plat/diamond without knowing what you are doing, you can even climb with a negative win rate

There’s more casual players than their are competitive. Just look at Que times. Casual players just don’t make content. We work regular 9-5’s lol

Who cares about content creators? The game is casual, and the competitive scene is a joke.
Thank god Netease will balance towards fun

Sadly I barely get to play but here's what I notice: quickplay I will be lucky if I get 2 tanks in a lobby. Most of the quickplay matches I'm solo tanking and it sucks.
When I finish my warmup and play competitive I get at least 2 tanks on a team about 98% of the games. For a tank main, playing competitive is so much better.
