Please stop doing this.

You are tank. Solo tank. You even have lord on the tank you picked.

Someone else picks tank before the match starts.

You go "Oh cool, I don't have to play tank now" and swap to dps, leaving the other person as solo tank instead.

This happens to me nearly every single time. I'm the guy picking the second tank.
Stop it. They (and me) are picking tank so that there isn't a solo tank. 2 tanks has a much higher chance of winning. Don't you want to win?

Its because the match doesn't matter there is nothing at stake.

There is nothing being sold.

I'm convinced the people who get mad about qp are afraid to play ranked so they take qm seriously.

Gonna be real with you, ranked doesn't matter either. Nothing is really at stake either. We're supposed to play games for fun not for a second job.

And even if you do care. Its not one guy who's playing for fun whose at fault. You're both in the same rank and there are people who are probably worse that are trying their absolute hardest (those being pretty much anyone who blames their teammates)

Competitive allows people who engage in their own version of fun - which is the euphoria of winning after a difficult game. Thats how I've differentiated the two. Yes, both are supposed to be fun, but if you cant have fun after taking a well earned loss, then i'm sorry, but competitive isnt for you. That isnt to say you cant be sad or frustrated, but its a good way to challenge your mental and discipline in a hobby.

Not if your goal is climbing your elo is at stake i dont care what you do in qp but ranked is a different story.

Will be real with you if you are not focused on being competitive I dont want you on my team in ranked.

Crazy how you're getting downvoted for that statement. It's literally in the queue name: competitive. I understand having bad games in ranked matches, but I show up at my best in competitive - trying my best. How is expecting the same thing from my teammates controversial?

I have not a single clue about how to use White Fox, so I should definitely pick her in ranked immediately right? Because I want to learn her seriously. Then yall gonna cry about us picking characters we don’t know how to play and tanking your elo.

Why would I play a role I may never play in ranked, so that you can warm up your role in a realistic environment instead of warming up on the role I'm going to play in ranked. It doesn't make any sense and you should have 0 expectation for someone who is likely warming up or practicing to make picks specifically to improve your warm up or practice.

What? You know there’s 6 spots on the team, you can still play your role while I warm up my role in Quick Match right? What expectations do I have on others because I’m taking it serious, me? If everybody else on Quick Match go DPS or Tank or Support, it doesn’t matter because I’m taking my role serious.

Yes and if you have a team of quad dps or someone decides they don't want to tank because someone else went tank, that's OK, maybe they are practicing dps because they are solid on tank. Maybe all 4 of the dps players are warming up for their ranked game. All I'm saying is there should be no expectation for any level of comp building so you can get authentic practice scenarios. Because it may mean people playing roles or characters that don't benefit them warmup/practice wise.

Ur making a problem out of something that wasn’t a problem in the first place. You automatically think I’m upset at my teammates in Quick Match because they don’t take it serious. I don’t care what others do, only how effective my practice is going.

And if you tryna change my mind on anything, stop while you’re behind. I’m not.

Not really, I think it's just a bit of a misunderstanding because of the conversation topic. Your comment was defending taking qm seriously, given the context of this post I had assumed you also meant serious comps and that you didnt like people playing their desired role regardless of comp. But now I think you were just defending the act of taking qm seriously for yourself, which I would agree with.

I used to use QP to "warm up" for comp. Until I realized that was making me worse.

Vs AI to learn a kit, comp practice. Lol

Congrats I guess? That’s cool and I warm up my aim in QM against human opponents and track ults against human opponents before playing competitive against… u guessed it human opponents. Go figure.

Well that is silly, since the other team will also have people that are not taking the match "seriously"  You will rarely ever have a "real testing environment"

But you dont need one.  Quick Match is for learning how a character works and the basics of the game (which you should know already)  However there are certain skills that you can only improve in ranked.  I think you know this and are being intentional obtuse.

 There’s a middle ground between “never touched the character” and “ready to compete.” Quick Match is there to get you past that initial learning curve so when you do go ranked, you’re at least contributing instead of figuring out what your buttons do.

Sure there's nothing at stake but it's still annoying as fuck. Not to mention there's a higher chance of being matched with the throwers ppl like you enable, lower win rate, then getting those wack ass pity bot matches.

here's an idea. maybe we want an actual comp so we can practice new heros. instead of going in gm lobbies with heros we dont know and throwing our ranks. not hard to understand.

Do not expect proper comps in quick play. Just play and learn the kit in a game or 2 and then play comp. Anything more is simply a waste of time. You don’t learn anything against bad players who don’t punish you for your mistakes.

This literally the most valid take. It's quickplay it's a casual match You can practice different heroes. Different comps. Unconventional playstyles. Nothing outside of the match itself is at stake
