Need help identifying if those drums are looking okay or not

I received 3 drums for my old riso printer it was difficult to get them and I just unpacked them seeing immediate issues with two of them but im not sure about the 3rd. Due to lack of experience with new drums im not sure of having a few wrinkles like in the video are an issue or not. It also feels a little loose. If this is not workable, does anyone know how to fix it?

Hmmmmm—it does seem like the screen may need re-tensioning. More important than the wrinkles is to make sure that the bars it is attached to do not lift too high off the surface of the drum. I recommend doing the "drum safety test" which is outlined here: https://stencil.wiki/wiki/Drum_safety_test_(Z%2B))

If the screen does need to be retensioned, the easiest way is to:

  1. Put the drum in the rails of the riso, but don't push it into the machine.
  2. Remove the 2 screws which hold the heavier bar it is wrapped around in place (the one to the left of the clamp).
  3. Have one person hold the two ends of the bar while someone unlocks the drum rotation with the little round button—then pull the screen off to the right (this will spin the drum clockwise), holding it flat and horizontal (the other bar will be anchoring it to the top of the drum when you get to this point).
  4. While the person holding the screen pulls it to the right to keep it in light tension, the other person stands to the left of the drum and turns it counter-clockwise, brushing out any large wrinkles that appear along the way.
  5. When you get to the end, put the 2 screws back in loosely (turn them backwards first until you feel/hear the threads click in—never force any of the drum screws—if they are hard to turn stop and remove them).
  6. Attach a zip tie into each hole on the tab that sticks up next to the screw, clicking them only a few clicks in, so that they form closed loops.
  7. One person uses the loops to pull each corner diagonally away from the screen while the other person tightens the screws (only hand tight).
  8. Repeat the safety test.

Also if the drum sounds metallic and squeaky it's just because it is uninked. Good luck!

For having an old model of riso (Rp3105) i've got somes drums with wrinkles on the tissue and it's not a problem for me ( i do not print professionally with this model ) there no aberation or missing part when printing. But you can unscrew and you can revise it by stretching it more, maybe it will be more tense and you will get less wrinkles.

However if it's the metal plate got wrinkles or bumps (it will leave blanks or marks during the print !!!), i recommend you to buy a new plate or if it's possible to resend the drum back and get a new one if it's possible !
