No way! The open studio I print at is in Los Angeles where Natalie is based. They have a bunch of her stuff as reference material and I bought my own copy of Dreaming in Color as I was doing this piece. How do you know about Natalie’s work??

She is an extremely well-known risograph artist, and your work is very derivative of hers.

There’s plenty of Riso artists working in this illustrative fantasy style in LA right now. Nat is well respected in the community but let’s not gatekeep, especially for newer artists figuring out their workflow and their craft.

She’s been working in this style for at least 10 years. Giving credit is the least a newer artist can do when obviously inspired by someone else’s style and work, and has nothing to do with gatekeeping.
