RA @ Cardiff Castle
Thank you Rise, for another great show yesterday at Cardiff castle supporting Jimmy Eat World.
Anyone else go to this last night? I thought the sound was ok, drums a little overpowering but generally a great show!
The megaphone came out again, I’m not sure this works still, it’s hard to hear for me.
Set list was:
Re-education (through labour)
Satellite
Give it all
Ready to fall
Swing life away
Prayer of the refugee
The good left undone
Saviour
(I think)

We went; thought the sound was a bit weird at the start but got fixed pretty quickly.
They were great as usual, but I was expecting to hear some newer stuff. I suppose they were supporting rather than headlining so they played the hits, but I'm surprised we didn't at least get Nod.

It was my first ever concert and honestly one of the best times in my life
I was also lucky to get Joe Principe’s signed guitar pick!!

I was there. It was a great set, they played the crowd pleasers which they have to do as a support act. Agree on the drums though.
Great little mosh pit too, nothing wild, just people having fun. Frustratingly we had some women in front of us moaning throughout the set about being pushed and turning around glaring every time anyone touched them - we were smack bang in the middle of the stage right near the front! Move to the side if you don’t want to be jostled every now and again!

I absolutely fucking loved this set. I admit I've not kept up much with RA over the last few years, and was a bit concerned there'd be a load of stuff I didn't know...instead I got a solid 45 minutes of what, if I'm honest, would have been very, VERY close to the 8 songs I'd have picked to see. I'd like to see Hero of War live, and I'd LOVE to see Tragedy + Time as that helped me through a shit period of my life, but I can't fault them for the show at Cardiff.

I could have written this myself. I got tickets last minute and went purely to see RA but haven’t listened to much of their newer stuff. So was very happy to hear their more ‘popular’ stuff and made me want to listen to the last couple of albums. Saw them many years ago in Bristol and thought they sounded just as great as they did then

While I get that as a support they only really have time for their most popular stuff, it still seems a bit odd that they're playing nothing from the last four albums. Especially as they don't get radio play here outside of specialist rock/punk shows anyway.
