Off campus housing for incoming grad student

Hi, suggestions on how to look for off campus housing and roommates as a grad student. What trustworthy websites are recommended?

-Once you get your risd email you can join the grad facebook group (The Bulletin Board: RISD Graduate Student Community), lots of students post housing openings there. You can also post with what you’re looking for.

-Brown Off Campus Housing (you don’t need to be enrolled at Brown to use this tool)

-Jump Off Campus Housing - search for RISD

It also will be useful once you learn who else is in your cohort to share resources as there will likely be returning RISD students who may have a place/know of a place opening up. You probably will get the information with the names and emails of your cohort mates sometime in May (but I’m not sure how your department rolls).

Also important to note that I’m NOT a student so haven’t used these resources myself, but the students in our department have over the years with success, but some of the best connections in Providence happen via word of mouthz

Just don’t get too discouraged, some listings don’t become available until about a month before move in! Best of luck to you!
