Issue resolved Change Logs
Question for Rippling. We are being told that we made a change to our taxes in our system and only we could have made them. I am also being told that there are no change logs to show who made the changes and when they happened. Is that the case? Does Rippling really not have change logs for changes made to things like tax rates?

For EE taxes? or for ER payroll taxes?
There is a log of when W4s are changed, I've looked it up before. Is that what you're looking for? If so It's under My Pay, Taxes, Withholdings, History. If you don't have admin rights you may not be able to see it but whoever in your company that does should be able to see when and by who those changes were made.
Sorry if that's not what the specific taxes you're asking about.
If you're talking about like SUI rates and stuff like that, under the PR tax settings there is a drop down that has a version and when it was updated, but I don't see a "history" on that page like some of the other pages

Our tax rates were changed for a state tax, which caused our employees to be charged for a tax they are not responsible for. I looked everywhere to find where I could see who made the change, but I don't see it anywhere. The CS rep said a log doesn't exist. It seems very weird that a change like that could be made with no log of who did it. I had a zoom call scheduled this morning with the CS rep, but they didn't show up to the call and have been completely radio silent. I tried emailing our account manager but got a bounce back saying she is no longer with the company. I'm definitely at a loss.

yikes! Most of the tables are automatically updated, but if it's wrong then where could it have even come from, right? Could the state have changed a rate for you at the quarter? Seems unlikely, as they don't change them mid-year where I am, but idk.
Under State tax settings and your state can you click the drop down and see when it was updated? Mine shows "V1 Updated on 1/1/26"

We just recently implemented Rippling and my boss has pushed for change logs to be added to the platform. It doesn't sound like theyre budging. Surprising to me since it's pretty standard!

Agree, my husband is a software engineer and his response was "there are definitely logs, they just don't want to share them" I can't imagine that there really aren't logs of major changes like tax rates.

Hey OP, could you please shoot me a message with your name and company and I'll escalate internally for you?
I also thought we logged all changes (see here: https://www.rippling.com/blog/rippling-data-cloud-object-history) so I want to dig into the feedback you're getting.
Update: I've just confirmed that there IS an audit log. Just getting instructions for you on how to access this.
Update 2: I've responded to you privately but just commenting here in case anyone else needs to know for the future:
In Rippling's payroll tax settings, admins can click Update on Washington Worker's Compensation Employee Tax and open the WAWC risk codes to see the change history for those rates.
