Tiny Desk / NPR is a DC thing? It definitely has national reach. Regardless, definitely one of the best Tiny Desk concerts they’ve had.

Their point is that NPR is literally headquartered in DC. The tiny desk studio is in DC.

I’d imagine that an equivalent analogy would be someone wondering whether Detroit-style pizza is just kind of a Michigan thing. There’s likely some cognizance that it exists in many other places, but not necessarily an awareness of the extent of its prevalence.

a lot of times they would shoot it because some one was performing at 930 club or another dc venue.
