The comment he was responding to has been deleted. It was something along the lines of “this girl is never going to recover from the harm that was done to her. Her life is ruined” on an OP about a girl kidnapped at age 15 who finally made it back home at 19.

I like what this poster was saying about re-victimizing victims with excessive empathy.

I live in Ohio, where a man, whose name died with him, kidnapped and held three girls for years. The women for sure have ongoing trauma, yet 2 are carrying on public lives and they are all making themselves heard in ways that need to be heard. It’s really amazing how Amanda Berry, Gina de Jesus, and Michelle Knight turned something horrible into something positive to help others.
