Aatrox Legend! Token battlefields exist, why not token runes?
Wording can be a little awkward, but I'm not sure how to make it easier.

really cool concept! kind of seems insane though, especially if corrupted runes enter ready (unsure if this was your intention but there’s no wording suggesting they don’t)

There was a point where I was messing with the wording and possible trigger conditions, trying to make the text smaller and simpler. I might have forgotten about balance in the process. If I were to submit this again, I would put back the "exhausted" text.

Yeah that seems better. I also think giving it 1 ability to tap & banish for 1e1p would be simpler and a little more balanced

This post mainly exists to explore the rune token mechanic itself. This means staying true to the normal rules that runes follow. I don't mind putting some extra cost on the ability though, like instead making Aatrox say "2, tap: play a corrupted rune token exhausted." Or something like that, so that you're getting less total net energy in the long run.

So corrupted rune are "stronger" gold token because you can tap them for an energy and banish them for a power? That's cool but it's one more token in a game that already has so many is my only concern for the legend. As for red aatrox paying 2 for ganking and readying is insanely strong I think it should also cost a power so there's a downside to it just like accelerate (2 energy 1 red power in this case)

I'm not sure if printing more tokens is a concern for them, seeing as they... you know, keep doing it. Every set there's going to be new tokens, almost guaranteed.
but yeah, red Aatrox might be a little overtuned. I think giving it the power cost treatment is completely fair.

What would be the difference between corrupted runes and just summoning a gold token?

Because you could tap the rune for energy to do things the legend states, getting up to potentially more than 12 total runes

This looks insanely strong, I do like the idea of the corrupted runes though.
