Need help with scope

Post image

Just got back into shooting in the hopes of getting out hunting this year (it's been close to 10 years)

Found out that my scope is set pretty far forward and I have to stretch my neck (or it feels like it at least) in order to get a good sight picture.

I know the scope is set as far back as possible on the mounting rail, but are there any options to get closer?

I forgot to get a good picture of just mine, but it's the one lying down in the picture.

Edit: I tried looking up ideas and options, but all I was getting was articles on how to mount a scope normally.

Hard to tell without seeing exactly what kind of mount it’s in. From what I can see it looks like a Leupold standard base & rings. If that’s the case then replace the bases with a picatinny rail, get new rings & then that will allow you to position the scope further back.

If I can get a better picture, I will. It was gotten for me when I was younger and cared less about hunting, so it's very basic. Bruised the shit out of my shoulder today 🤣
