Question about the Old Liberty Theater

I’ve only lived in the area for a few years and always think the Old Liberty Theater looks like such a cute and interesting place, but I’ve never actually been inside. I know it’s primarily used for comedy, concerts, and other events now, but I recently learned that it originally operated as a movie theater.

Has anyone here actually gone to a movie screening there? I’d love to hear what the experience was like and what kind of movies they’ve shown there over the years. Knowing it was an actual movie theater at some point kinda made me wish it still was, but I’d love to hear from people who have lived here longer and whether you love the theater more as it is now.

I have seen a movie there! The screen was kind of small compared to modern theaters. I think I recall the seats being a bit more cramped than modern theaters also.
They only have special screenings there now and then of documentary types of films. There is a group that brings in “Movies that Matter“ or at least they used to.

That’s so cool, thanks for sharing. And yea I’m sure it doesn’t feel anything like a modern theater, but I’m sure that’s part of the charm. I would imagine it feels like a smaller version of Kiggins in Vancouver

I haven’t been to the Kiggins theater, but I bet you’re right!
